Anyone have tips for the Raccoon Boss on Naked Boss Rush?
I find that I am having a harder time against him without the Chain Dash upgrade. I need a more reliable strategy than Do-Him-Second-Last-and-Save-All-Medkits-For-Him. I can handle the East, North, and South Bosses just fine (though the floating one with the orbs is a bit a of a pain without chain dash too), but the West Boss just wrecks me. I cannot seem to get away quick enough. I could take it slow, but I want to get good times.

Triple dash is more than enough. You can juuust barely manage to evade his triple hit with three dashes, but you have to time it right. You also need to dash in hit and dash out whenever you can, and just pelt him with the pistol at every opportunity.

I know it's possible, but it's definitely slower. I can kill him consistently with only slower triple dash, but it is much slower. I cannot be as aggressive. I would like to kill him faster than 2 to 3 minutes. Possibly 1 or less. My goal is to try and complete the naked boss rush in under 10 minutes at the moment. I usually average about 11 or 12. I find that the raccoon boss seems to take the longest. I can even kill the final boss slightly faster than I can kill him.

Maybe I just need some more practice. I don't know.

I just posted a video guide on how to beat all the bosses under a minute, its not for naked boss rush.. but theres a technique in there for the West Boss that should improve your time dramatically!

That big raccoon tries to cut you off in the direction youre heading, so basically if you hold an input and then turn around at the right second.. he'll fly by past you, and then you can easily dash through him to avoid the next and still be in close proximity.

In the video, I take the time to do 6 points of dmg between each set of swings; I'm holding a directional input still however... IT COUNTS! And it works... Its the same for his 3 swing variation (avoid the first one, double dash the next two); if you play your cards right though, you won't even see that and you can get him to destroy the only minion he'll have time to summon! That's what I did just now anyway!

Hope this helps!

Here's a tip: use the gun and then immediately slash. It's essentially a two damage hit because the slash immediately recharges the gun.

I knew about that already. Thanks though.

Not sure if you still need it, but right when he jumps for the slash, dash INTO him. It will dodge the first, and put you just a frames walk away from his second. When you get him to phase 2 with the 3 hit combo, just dash into him, then dash again. If you want to be really cocky like I was, shoot/slash animation cancel as he jumps and then dash into him. But I agree, next to the Archer(due to no safe way to remove mines) the Hanged Man was the hardest fight in the Naked Rush

I also had to use the "dash into him" technique to defeat him.
It's difficult though because you really need to have the right timing for the technique to work.
If you dash a little bit too early, he'll turn around and hit you straight from the first strike.

I also found him to be the hardest boss in the naked boss rush.
