Slow Motion?
So i wanted to go back and get the last achievements in the game (haven't played it for a while), but the game feels like it's running in slow motion. Does anyone else get this? I see some people mentioning performance issues after the co-op patch, but the last time i played it, co-op was a thing.
My PC is in no way impressive (laptop with a 630m GPU, and 3610qm CPU), but it should (and could) still be able to run this game.
The game doesn't seem to be chugging. It runs quite stable, but just very slow, as if it was in slow motion.
Does anyone have an idea of what is causing this, or maybe even a solution to the problem?

Problem fixed. I just entered the BETA branch for the last patch, and the game seems to run at full speed (though my boss rush prograssion is deleted, but this might be from going to a BETA branch before boss rush was implemented)
I will just leave this here, in case anyone else needs it.

In conclusion, the prblem seems to be isolated to the newest patch.

I'm having the same problem and looking for a solution. I have it through GOG Galaxy though and no beta channels available there.

@Jron

Have the exact same issue from the GOG version as well... been thinking about possibly contacting Heart Machine about it. Have you been able to find a solution?

Recently got this game for free on the Twitch app. I have the same issue randomly arise for me. I'll be playing fine and then suddenly after like an hour or more of regular play it'll slow down at a random section.

THIS IS FOR GOG
Hey there, I see that my old post suddenly got some attention. I don't have the GOG version of the game, so i can't test if it works, but you can download an older patch of the game.

http://gamespatch.org/patch/download-patch-for-hyper-light-drifter-2-1-0-3-gog/

You might be able to find all patches as seperate downloads elsewhere, but this might work for people using GOG.

Thanks! Will test this out and post results here. Still kind of frustrating that Heart Machine pretty much forgot about the GOG version though...

Also coming from the Twitch Prime people, I would have expected this post to gain some traction again. Funny how I got here 2 hours ago and didn't see a solution, so I would try some things myself and come back to report on having failed just to find that suddenly a solution is available.
I'll test if this update also works with the Twitch version without messing with the DRM or anything.
Anyways, thanks for posting that patch. It's really really appreciated.

Thanks for trying to help, but unfortunately this patch doesn't work with the current game version

Yeah... apparently the game installer from GOG comes pre-patched to the July 21, 2017 version of the game. That installer for the 2.1.0.3 patch refuses to overwrite the current version of the game.

The strange thing is, GOG provides a previous patch to download [www.gog.com] for the "5/31/2017" version of the game. However, the patch's installer just states that "a newer version of the game is already installed." :/

I sent an email to Heart Machine's support and info email about a week ago and still haven't received a response. I provided a link to this discussion and this GOG forum thread here which describes the same issue [www.gog.com].

While I'm still having the issue, I will say, the odd slow down actually helped me out. I beat the Northern boss fairly easily because of the slowdown, made it super easy to see the patterns. Otherwise, though, I'll try to see if i can come to a fix conclusion. Good luck, guys!. (Twitch version)

Completely closing the game and launching it again fixes the problemm, but there is no reason I have to accept this as a solution for a game I paid for
TheZepp187 Jan 1, 2019 @ 11:52pm
Yeah, it's the same with the Twitch version. But that is an absurd expectation lol. I have it on PS4 and surprisingly have no issues with the game, but I'd prefer to play it on PC.

Same problem with the Twitch version. Performance becomes unbearable after 30min. I have to keep restarting the game. It's extremely frustrating because I really love the game but this is ruining it.

Ryzen 1700
GTX 1080
16 RAM
Windows 10 64bit

Edit: Here's another thread on GoG about the same issue.

https://www.gog.com/forum/hyper_light_drifter/slow_after_aprox_30mins_play

Edit: On a 120Hz monitor.

Same problem here. Also playing on the Twitch version. By all accounts I should be able to run this game wihtout any problems. The game runs fine on 30 FPS, but slows to a crawl in 60 FPS.

My system specs:

Ryzen 5 1600 overclocked to 3.6 GHz (6 cores)
RX 580 8 Gb
16 Gb RAM
Windows 10

I'm also using a 144Hz Freesync monitor.
