How can I beat Sword boss?

The West boss, right? What do you die to the most? His jump slashes? When I fought him, it was mainly about getting the reflexes for dashing exactly when he attacks. If you do it too soon, he'll make you eat dirt. Chain-dashing isn't necessary, since even in his "desperation phase" he'll never jump at you more than 3 times.

If his samurais are the issue, first thing you do in the fight is make him break the crystals they're frozen in, ideally the ones in pairs first because he might summon them even sooner if you don't.

Yeah, his slashes - and I can't find oportunities to hit him aside shoot him

I made really good use of the "bounce bullets" ability (when slashing) during the battle... made it a lot easier, as you don't have to worry as much about getting in close.

Deflecting shots is really nice chip damage. Right after he's done shooting and right after he finishes his slash combos are two opportunities to get in attacks of your own.

I never tried a charged hit on West boss, but it does incredible damage. There might be just barely enough time to do it in one of those instances, and it will probably juice up your ammo for shotgunning really quick.

Don't give up, man. I just beat hime a couple of minutes ago. I hit him with the a pistol shot after every slash - though the shotgun worked better better - then hit him with the sword after ever slash once I had run out of ammo and just repated the cycle when the ammo regenerated. He's pretty difficult, but it's doable.

Also, ignore the smaurai dudes he spawns. They're too slow to keep up with all the dashing you need to do.

Good work. The sword boss was definitely the toughest for me as well. Most people find that guy to be the hardest I think.

Take a bigger sword!

Attack him after he finishes series with a pistol. It is a moment when he does not counter attack. Try to dash and quick-attack (once max) when his attack animations are on.
