1000 deaths is too much

What's the point in grinding deaths? I completed almost all the achievements so far (it's missing the "nothing easy", besides "don't give up") and haven't got the death ones. They should reduce it so people can at least see it during a normal playthorugh it's pointless to grind for it after doing everything else

I think the average player will have less than 100 deaths in a complete playthrough so the "don't give up" message won't even reach those that struggle with the game. I wonder if even a single person has gotten this achievement without purposefully grinding for it and it begs the question of just what the people responsible for it were thinking :P

I timed it and the quickest recurring death I could find within the game mechanics was to repeatedly die to the moving crusher blocks in one of the north zones. It took about 11 seconds from respawn to death and with needing 1000 deaths you could potentially be dying and respawning repeatedly for uptowards as much as 3 hours. Not a very fun or engaging achievement I think.

I'd recommend automating it if you care enough to get it. Simply switch to keyboard controls if you don't already use them and send a one-time "button down" input using auto hotkey or similar programs and the game will remember the input even if alt-tabbed or out of focus in windowed mode. Then you can go do whatever else you want in the meantime. Hope it helps.

I guess this was meant for the players, that just play the game multiple times, but I guess then they would not die that much right?

I don't think it does, since deaths are attached to the save file (which means you could even edit the number of times you've died if you found out what text dictates that variable) and NG+ doesn't use data from other saves. Completing the game simply unlocks it.

'NG' file overwrite a 'complete' one. Deaths starts count from 0.
So you need 1000 deaths in one savefile.

Weird, i thought it worked like a counter, just like other counter achievements where you could repeat any action at any point in the game, and it would still count. Except for this one having no counter to display.

This really needs to be "fixed" so it acts like an overall counter for any save file, and on top of that, we really need Cloud Saves.

I just set up a hot key to do the challenge. I got frustrated getting to a few hunded and then messing up! They need to reduce the number of dashes needed. They also need to reduce the number of deaths needed for dying 1000 times. It takes way to long to keep holding a button down and dying again, and again.

Just because there's an achievement for 1000 deaths in the game, doesn't mean you have to try to post that message 1000 times.

also make sure to make hidden files visible to see the appdata folder
Edit:Change the number of deaths to 999 and then just die. make sure to backup your normal game save file and replace it after ur done :P
