Chain-Dashing
I'm at my wits end here...I've bought the chain dash upgrade, and I've looked at all the guides continually telling you that chaindashing gets faster and faster as you progress till you just need to keep up, I get it. But not a single guide whatsoever is addressing how to even get the first dash in the first place. the closest I have gotten to with someone is "just do it after the sound is gone completely" or alternatively spamming it as fast as I can is the only way. Neither of which has gotten me to be able to chain dash even once. Simply Put...HOW DO YOU TRIGGER IT? Thats all I need to know. I haven't scored the north boss on my first try to be stuck at something this stupid...

I need to delete this *****ing thing if I can. After two hours of stuggling and then posting a dicussion. I finally chained jumped once, (no idea how), then I got it again going really fast to where I got 114 and now i can't get it again. This game is really cool but **** all over me, this is ridiculous.

Dashing is similar on kb and controller. Guides and videos cant really tell you how the dash works because there is no real way through words that you can easily explain the amount of time between dashes in order to chain them together from it being less than a second window. Someone could probably talk about it in terms of frames, that's about it.

A few things of simple advice:

1. NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER NEVER mash the dash button. It will get you nowhere in terms of teaching how chaining dashes works and successfully chaining dashes.

2. Practice. Start simply just knowing how to dash. After that start with simply dashing twice. Once you know how to dash twice slowly lower the time between your two dashes until the SOUND EFFECT CHANGES in tone on the SECOND dash. Once it changes you will know that you have chained the two dashes together. From there practice with chaining two dashes until you have figured that out well enough to do reliably.

3. Practice. That cant be said enough.

The same process goes for chaining dashes after the second one-the sound effect will go to a higher tone for each dash chained together until fourth or fifth at which you will be moving at max speed. You'll know that you've chained four dashes together when your character skids across the ground to stop rather than stopping on a dime. If need be try binding it to the mouse as a way of practice and then switch to a button once you're comfortable.

Thank you. I'll try rebinding the keys and see if that works.

Go back to the store where you got the dash and go to the field on the right; you're supposed to practice there (and dashing around the ring multiple times will get you the items as the gauge in the middle fills up, or you can just keep your cursor in one place so you can dash over the same panel over and over). After the first dash, you have to dash as soon as your characters lands back on their feet and is leaning backwards; THAT is when you do it; then you just keep pressing the dash button at a consistent tempo because at that point, you'll be dashing around the room and won't be able to see yourself (in short; you learn the tempo by muscle memory.

I got the dash about 5 to 10 minutes ago, and I already got up to 299 and got the prize in the top left. Now I'm trying to ge the one in the top right; the difficult part is that you can smash into walls and ruin the flow, so be careful with that.

Go to big picture mode on steam (controller mode button, top right corner) go to HLD > controller templates > community templates. There are several configurations that have perfect chain dash and all you have to do is hold down the button. If you want to make it even easier, switch HLD to keyboard mode (in game settings) the switch your dash button on your controller to input as spacebar, one of your sticks to mouse inputs. Walk up to the square in the chain dash shop that refreshes your energy, hover the mouse over that square, and just hold down your dash button. You will go back and forth over the the refresh tile and won't even have to worry about crashing into a wall. Wait for 800 dashes and your done.

It would be much simpler to just download a metronome on your phone, set it to 230 BPM, and just dash over the same square with the quarter note. That's exactly what I did, lol.
Hey there friend. I had a similar problem. What I figured out is if you dash (space), press W, A, S, or D and press space again IMMEDIATELY AFTER you press W,A,S, or D, you initiate the chain dash sequence. Like, when I say "immediately", I mean almost concurrently, but space verry slightly after. You may have to do this a few times til you get to the point where you go real fast, so watch timing. Also, I personally feel that going to settings and setting dashtype mouse dir (your dash will go wherever your cursor is) makes life much easier.
