How do you invite friends or play with friends?

New to bloody trapland. How do you invite people to play? Im hosting my own game but im kinda lost here

Try opening steam chat conversatoion, then click arrow near nick and "invite to game"

I dont have that invite function either

then why not just host server with password and let friends find it on server list
probably they wont be able to join anyway because game is bugged

The invite option doesn't exist. The only way is to make a server, add a password, and have your friend join you.

But my friend cant join cuz it says "timed out" or "connection lost"
