Anyone with Comodo Internet Security able to play the game?
Hi,

I started to write on a really old thread, and Teremus is aware of my problem but decided to start my own thread.

So the question is can anyone using Comdo Internet Security play this game? I was able to play it after first downloading it for one and a half week without any problems, just doing the ordinary "allows" that the game asked as I have to all other online games I have and can play without problems. Then about 2 ½ weeks ago I had trouble logging in. But usually I eventually got in... then it started to get the pop up "cannot save to server" after games... then I could be stuck for hours in rift run drafts "loading next selection/card", usually playing 2 or 3 games against bots made me able to choose 1-3 cards before I was stuck in "loading next selection/card" and I had to repeat bot plays again. Then it stopped working completely and havn't been able to login for the last 2 weeks. Sometimes I can reach the "Validating cards" blue bar that fills up... but never gets further then waiting for "login in" anymore.

I have done every allow/trusted/exception/exclusion rule to both firewall, defense+ and antivirus in my Comodo but nothing works. Waiting for a reply since last week from the support(just to ward of all the "write to support"). Started this thread to see if someone better/smarter then me has already figured out a solution. Have got both the steam and none-steam version of the game. All graphcard, JAVA, windows 7, Comodo have got the latest updates. Reinstalled the game 2 times on steam 1 time none-steam, verified the game 10+ times(some times it tells me 2 files needed to be downloaded but not all of the times I've verified. Have started the game inbetween verifies without needing to download so I cannot reliably recreate whatever 2 files needs to be downloaded again when that happens but might be interesting to look in to why some times 2 needs too).

Help would be nice, cause during those first 1 ½ weeks I really liked the game and got a few good decks going.

I'm not sure how to help. I ran the game perfectly with Comodo for 2 months, then I started using Bitdefender for an unrelated reason. Are you sure it's Comodo causing the error? Have you tried uninstalling Comodo, reinstalling IW and then reinstalling Comodo once the IW client is confirmed to be working?

Well I to was able to play the game the first 1 ½ weeks after I installed it, with no changes to comodo or anything else before it just stopped working, all other online games and steam works fine. Teremus (developer) believes it is the comodo as they do know it cause problem for a lot of users. The thing is if I uninstall comodo everything comodo has learnt will be unlearned and I will have to start form scratch with comodo blocking everything, sandboxing everything... untill it has learned all again. I do not know if you can completely turn off comodo though without uninstalling it.. I've tried terminating all comodo processes though in taskmanager... but I don't know if that works.

terminating all the processes will not do what you want. The reason is the security program changes all the firewall rules, and security protocals. I would uninstall comodo and then run ccleaner to make sure it was wiped completly. Restart your machine then try to play the game. (side note) unless you are a high risk user expensive security programs are probably a waste of money if you have the basics covered.

Oh Comodo Internet Security is free and I like the control I get. I like when it tells me everytime something on my computer tries to contact internet. (you would be surprised how many different things that your not running, tries to get internet access for all sort of reasons).

Ok this is interesting. So I uninstalled Comodo Internet Security with CCleaner AND I can still not play Infinity Wars. So from the game working for 1 ½ week till not working at all for the last 2 weeks without me doing any changes was not Comodos fault after all. I have saved loads of "output_log.txt" from failed startups. I have logs from when Comodo was installed. From when I had no firewall or antivirus active at all. From when Comodo was uninstalled. Reinstalled. Then uninstalled with CCleaner. And I CANNOT play this game at all like I could the first 1 ½ week problem free!

I've seen this in a few of the output_log.txt form infinity wars, but not all, still can't be good. Might be a side effect from what ever is the real problem I don't know:

Doesn't look good though...

I need help and I need to hear something from support.. I have tons of output_log.txt. Taken some screenshots of things that might help. I havn't had a problem to start a game like this that I really have tried to get to work since back in the first Duke Nukem FPS shooter trying to get multiplayer work between two computers using serial cables and were no fancy internet plug n play stuff was availible like now.

Teremus I need your guys help :-)

After 10-15 tries to login without firewall(Comodo) I for some random reason was able to connect/login, logged out and could login again. I have done no changes from the above message.

I will now reinstall Comodo Internet Security. Maybe it will work like it did the first 1 ½ weeks.

I give up... installed Comodo while playing Infinity Wars. Worked fine. Restarted computer. Not working anymore... this is some random fetch, I get to tired of...

Kungen, if I haven't shown that I'm trying to help you I don't know how else to do it bud.

I'm not support, even though I've asked you to reach out to support you seem reluctant to do so and instead want my limited help here on these forums.

We know it's a fault with Comodo, that much is certain. Without Comodo whitelisting us I'm not sure what all our team could do to help you with a third party program that we have no control over.

I appreciate you reaching out to Comodo, and hopefully that prompts them to respond to us as they haven't done anything with us in the past.

If you'd like to send the above log that you posted with the nullreferenceexception to Support@lightmare.com.au they can be the ones who will actually be able to help you. My ability to do so is extremely limited, hence why I tried to get you to reach out to them when we started talking 4 days ago.

I don't want you to feel like I'm giving you the run around, but you said you want our help, and this is how you'd receive it. I cannot do what they can do.

Hi Hi Teremus,

I know you must be reading hundreds of messages every day and you've been a great support. I have already writen lightmare support (last week, twice, with 3-4 output_logs.txt... got a lot more know though categoriezed in tries "with comodo", "uninstalled comodo", "reinstalled comodo", "CCleaned comodo") I only got the thank you auto mail, so a few days later I rewrote them with new updates of my problem. But then you told me they need time, they are working on it... So I took it I should stop writing them and have been waiting a week now... It's all in the other thread, I copy pasted time and dates when I wrote them in there too... No problem you don't remember... you seem to be on the ball in so many threads it is understandable...:-)

And to top that of... I tried to login just now(having had the computer on all night no changes to anything, no restart) and for some reason I got in.. I don't know if I can relogin if I log out though... this problem is too random for me to solve. First time I've been able to login, with comodo not being uninstalled, for 3 weeks.

Oh well, was able to play 4 games, second and fourth I could not save to server (got the fail pop up pressed retry, 10+ times). Now all my cards have dissappeared so all my deckbuilds are marked (Illegal) so I cannot play I have no choice but to logout and try login... I doubt I will get in again though... :-)

EDIT: True enough, now I cannot connect/login again.

That is INCREDIBLY strange. It seems there's "Windows" in which you're able to play, and it's either Comodo or your ISP causing that.

Have you tried turning on Game Mode? My friend uses Comodo and does the same thing.

I've tried everything I can possible think of after it randomly stopped working. Worked the first 1 ½ week of game play.. but that was a long time ago now..

So I've been maybe trying to connect/login 1-2 times a week since my last post, never working... just to see if stuff with Comodo has been worked on/fixed/is back to not being a problem as it was at first... The last ticket/report I heard nothing from after the "thank you for contacting support auto mail) that's a bit over a month old now... kinda why I gave up...

Guess no fix for us Comodo users have been worked on... I've got over 140+ working games on Steam this is the only one I cannot figure out how to get to work... sad was fun playing alot of it 1 ½ week straight...

Maybe there will be a fix in a few more months time... I'll pop in now and then to check.

With all due respect, there's no "Fix" we can apply that will allow a third party program that labels our EXE as spyware to just allow it.

We've reached out to COMODO numerous times in an attempt to speak with them and see what we can do, we've not received one single response from them.

Well then I am at a lose... They have hardly manually made your EXE spyware labeled out of spite, and made that irreversible for the end user, thus meaning an autodetection on your code.. Which means your way of programing your EXE must be utterly unique to all other games on steam as no other game I have cannot be fixed by manually adding it as trusted in all instances (firewall, antivirus, exceptions, trusted files). Therefor I am hoping your programing department will eventually figure out what all other multiplayer online games does differently and fixs the automatic lockdown of the EXE file.

Hi again,

Yesterday my League of Legends stopped working for no apparent reason. Have been in contact with RIOT support and while working down there list of fixes(LoL not working yet waiting for answer now) I decided to see if any of the fixes they suggested had made Infinity Wars working again. Guess what I could login YaY for the first time since Infinity Wars mysteriously stopped working... all this time my Comodo got the blame and I've done nothing extra to my comodo from it to first work for 1 ½ weeks to not work for weeks to working today again... the game was allowed in comodo thru all that time... now I'm just gonna test if it will save "progress to server" after a game.

[Edit 2: Wow the new patch "champion trait" totally destroys Overssers, making it totally pointless to collect all those champion cards I have as you can only play one of them and having the rest take up your hand space, combine that with the nerf on Heaven's assistance and Precautionary mesures and I think my Overssers days are over. Just the nerf on Heaven's assistance and Precutionar mesures would have been huge. The new "champion trait" just makes a collectible card game not so collectible anymore, as it is pointless to collect the different champions, you just pick the best one and add 1-3 of that champion to your deck as the other ones won't see any play.]
