Alexander's Password
I must say this is a lovely game, but like basically all Point and click adventure games, it's quite unforgiving to the one who can't read the instructions correctly. Take Alexander Hinkley's datapad for example. You learn his password and then that he incremented it by 1. I, and most likely many others who don't have english as first language, didn't understand the meaning of increment. At first I tried adding 1-9 to the end of the password. Since I was not keen on going through every letter on my keyboard (which was my next idea), I checked on a guide. Only then did I understand it meant to increase his number series by 1, up to 757.

It would be really nice if you used
spoiler tags
for spoilers.

Also, http://www.thefreedictionary.com/increment https://translate.google.com/#en/sv/to%20increment
http://en.bab.la/dictionary/english-swedish/increment

But yes, "false friends" can be difficult, in this case the Swedish word "inkrement"/"inkrementera" may not have quite the same meaning as the English "increment".
First of all, thanks for the lesson on how to use spoiler tags, though I have no idea how many people have already read this. Second, increment means the same both in Swedish and English, it's just not a word in my (and I'd guess many others) vocabulary.

My native language is German but I play most games in English and rarely have issues understanding what I'm reading/hearing/watching/playing but for whatever reason my brain translated "increment" to mean "subtract". *headdesk* Only after double checking with a dictionary I managed to solve that particular puzzle.

But I don't think we can fault the devs for this. Unless there's something I'm not aware of about the use of "increment" (in this particular content or in general) that makes it a bad choice? It's nothing compared to the famous "monkey wrench" of Monkey Island after all. ;)

Still your topic might be useful in helping others with the same issue (and hey, I'm not alone, cool!) to solve the puzzle without having to look up the solution! (It leaves such a bad taste if you can't solve something because of small misunderstanding, doesn't it?)
