Morningstar: Descent to Deadrock is decent, but much smaller in scope than J.U.L.I.A. Buy on sale?
I'm not sure if Broken Age counts as "hard sci-fi" - probably not.
Cloud Chamber is fairly sci-fi, but works very differently.
The Tex Murphy adventures are pretty neat.
Blade Runner is amazing, if dated, and hard to get a hold of and running.
Darkstar: The Interactive Movie might fit the bill, it's pretty hard sci-fi.
Portal 2, of course.
There are a couple of games in Early Access at the moment that might have potential, but I can't tell yet. :/ And of course, there's always the classic Myst/Riven/etc, but that's lacking the sci-fi.
