If I had a 4k display to test it I'd be interested for the prospect of having a more accurate TV filter but probably unlikely to happen anytime soon.
You could try the new option in the launcher to switch the display to 1080p mode and see if that looks sharper than the normal scaling.
I think the issue is that there aren’t options available, old pc games were forward thinking with future proofing in mind, for example the original max pain (2003) pc version had a 4K option back then when 4K monitors or 4K cab able graphics cards were available. The issue with 4K monitors is that when they down scale to anything that isn’t native, it looks really bad. If I had a 1080p monitor I wouldn’t have any issue, as a native image on right resolution looks great. I personally like to emulate or play my retro styled games with sharp visuals and no filter, that’s not an issue for me, because that’s how I remembered the games as a kid. Rare replay, has native 4K support that’s the ideal way for me to play banjo kazooie now.
Sorry if I come off as angry, I think corn kidz 64 is a lovely game, I’d just like to have more options that appeal to all types of gamers, especially as a pc gamer the lack of a 120 fps mode, and resolution options, caught me off guard. more options is a good thing. Hope this title continues to be supported and updated, hope you found this feedback helpful. Thanks for reading.
Adding it as a standard option could take some work but it turns out to be trivial to just add it as another branch that replaces the 1080p mode with 4K and doubles the resolutions.
Right now it only affects the former 1080p modes and doesn't improve the TV effect as I would like though I may or may not update that later.
4k works fine for me, but it's still a lot more pixels then I can display.
Any chance 120fps could be a thing too?
Probably won't be adding 120fps.
Personally id enjoy 120fps too although i can understand that if you decide against it ultimatively because probably few would benefit.
Similar with Ultrawide resolutions like 32:9 (5120x1440) would be cool but im not sure how easy it would be to implement
In any case thanks a ton for listening to so much feedback already!
It works perfectly fine. With the low poly graphics it's probably not that much performance a lower res would save.
