Anyone with "Load game" greyed out, seemingly corrupt saves: READ THIS FOR FIX!

The other day I lost the ability to load saves for ALL of my Serious Sam games (SS3, SS4, Siberian Mayhem). The "load game" option was greyed out. I thought my drive might be failing or something but all tests checked out--nothing wrong with the drive. I just figured out how to get my old saves working and have fixed the problem.

I realized the problem is this: SS games all seem to use as the only *local* save folder, the same folder that's used by *Steam cloud*, rather than having their own local save folder independent from Steam cloud (a really stupid decision to my mind). For some reason unknown to me, Steam cloud wiped all of my SS game *cloud* saves while leaving the local saves on the machine. And it seems that saves for SS games WILL NOT SHOW UP unless there's a copy of the save in the local SS save folder on your machine and a *CORRESPONDING* save copy in the Steam cloud. SS wouldn't even recognize my local saves, because there were no corresponding copies in Steam cloud due to the mysterious Steam cloud wipe.

So here's how I got everything working again. I did a fresh install of SS4 (only SS game I've tried this with so far but I expect it'll work, no problem, for the others). I disabled Steam cloud for SS4 and shut off Steam. I then copied the full contents of the old remote\SavedGames folder, with all my saves and save info files that weren't loading, into the new SS4 save file directory. I then turned on Steam and re-enabled Steam cloud for SS4. Now, all my saves appear in the list, I can load them, everything works.

EDIT: Confirmed this method let me use my SS Fusion saves again. One thing to highlight is that I had to move the SS games to the C drive, where the Steam install is, for this to work. Steam cloud didn't want to sync stuff on the secondary drive for some reason.
