Regarding performance

My new pc runs Alan Wake 2 with everything on max settings including raytracing with a steady 70 fps.
Serious Sam 4 still runs like crap. Funny enough the game runs bad at exactly the same levels and situations it did on a completely different pc back in the day.

So, yeah. Not only is the games optimization very bad, Croteam never cared to fix it. Dishartening if i think back at what a technical marvel first and second encounter were. BOTH in terms of graphical quality AND in terms of optimization.
Those games not only ran surprisingly well on older hardware, they looked beautiful even on low settings.

SS4 looks bad regardless of settings and has trouble maintaining a stable 60 as soon as more than 20 enemies are on screen at once.

I have a 4080 and it runs very poorly, the game doesn't recognize newer gpus after release...

His PC is not the problem its this game is poorly optimized compared to Serious Sam Fusion which runs on a almost exact same engine with only a little difference in its versions.
They could not update the engine to modern standards since it costs allot.
Hopefully when Talos 2 launches and they work on dlc and be done with it, we could see Serious Sam getting a remake for FE, SE on UE 5 and then bring the rest.
They could re-imagine the series with updated gameplay while keeping that classic old school feel to it.

so its capped at 72,5 fps or 100.5 xd
