I'm going to do another full run through the entire game again now that everything is silky smooth.
NG+ would not solve that. It would need a sort of secrets halving mode. Also where the loot from removed secrets was put in to the game for general pick up.
However I could not even imagine the devs thinking it an idea. It sounds dumb when I type it out. I guess I'll either have to use a secrets guide or just not bother with the ones I don't learn.
I did that with SS3. I used a guide for the first play. However I enjoyed the second play without a secrets guide - a lot more. It was just more fun playing the game, rather than using a guide to look for loot. I had memorised enough to play the game without handicap, if I did not secret hunt. They must have developed it that way.
SS3 was one of my all time favourite games too. Played over 300 of SS3 campaign.
Some random suggestions for visual, environMental and gameplay changes for the next patch:
-when you change something in (or even just look at) the color menu the highlights of pickups gets screwed up and their glow becomes a flat rectangle
-the trapdoor inside the Colosseum where Rodriguez is coming out has no collision detection so you can fall through the level
-some of the propaganda posters all around the levels definitely need an update (or just change Achriman's model to that one :P)
-you might want to expand the high voltage line all the way to the inaccessible parts of the level in A Breakfast in France because right now it just simply ends in the middle of nowhere and the last pylon is even hovering above the ground
-that building that gets bombed by a Raider in the first level definitely needs an overhaul, especially the door that simply turns black afterwards
-Massimoalready has blood on his uniform when you meet him, as does the wall; both definietly should only appear after the mission
-also, you might want to have the doors to that area close once you start the side mission since the script can get kinda screwy if for whatever reason you decide to chicken out and leave the roof mid-battle
Have noticed so far that Vulkan runs a better frame rate. Or rather that Vulkan has fixed one place where I used to see some frame rate drop. Or the devs optimised it.
At the start of level three, there were places in that foliage that gave me fps drops, but not now.
Other areas that gave me drops were, the castle, and the way to the quarry. Will see later how they are doing, coz I only on level five I think.
I don't know much about DX12 vs Vulkan. ... However I got a 20% fps boost in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint with Vulkan. It was enough to solidly max out Breakpoint at 1440p with 1080 Ti. I hope SS4 stays maxed without drops. I get Ultra settings and ten customisations.
4 PLAYERS MAXIMUM IS TOO LOW
Yeah sorry, but the other issue with running a secrets guide, is sadly getting images of the map ahead. Areas that you forgot about that you would come to next and surprise, are spoiled by secrets guide.
Then you work your ass off doing all the secrets and side missions. Only for game to take all your stuff away 'TWICE'. ... Yes that is nasty.
Still love SS4 though.
The mummies in the fourth level I think, after the volcano, are too bright. They hurt my eyes, as well as being very difficult to focus on to shoot.
Could you please turn down the brightness on them somehow?
