Devastator

Haven't seen devastator in any of the videos. It's a shame, that the best (in my opinion) weapon from SS3 won't come back in SS4. The same goes to flamethrower from SE. It was a lot of fun using flamer against enemies in close ranges. :(

The Devestator was way too convenient to use which ruined the weapon balance. Made the rocket launcher practically obsolete. If it is to return it needs some serious changes to make it more interesting. "point and kill" is not what SS is about, all the other weapons have quirks that you must work with to make them effective.

It could be easily balanced if:
1) Ammo for devastator was quite rare
2)Keeping the reloading
3)It was only secret weapon

Yes, but then it's sort of like another cannon (except the secret part). I think its possible to make the Devestator a really great weapon - but they need to do something smart with it.

IMO the most fun Sam weapons are those that are really powerful in particular situations while also being akward in others. Because it means you can try to create the situations that benefit your favourite weapon the most. Stuff like: the C4, the Flamethrower, the rocket launcher, the supershotgun, etc

The Devastator is supposed to be some kind of Auto Shotgun in the first place, so there being a real Auto Shotgun in SS4 now could mean that the Devastator is gone for good. Then again, it could return as a weapon mod for the Auto Shotgun now that weapon mods are a thing.

But you know that auto shotgun and devastator are totally different weapons, right? One does not exclude the other, so i don't see any contraindications not to have both in SS4.

What do you mean "most weapons" ? I've seen Pistol,Single,Double shotguns, Assault rifle, Minigun, Rocket Launcher, Grande Launcher, Sniper Rifle, Cannon, Lasergun. All these weapons were in SS1 and SS3, so i don't know what are you talking about? Only weapons i can't see on the videos are melee weapons like knife,chainsaw and sledgehammer, as well as flamer, and DEVASTATOR.

That doesn't make sense at all. Devastator is totally different weapon.

So was the beamgun, but that didn't stop it from being merged with the lasergun.
