Technical help for small screen, please!

Okay, I tried to look around for a solution to my way-too-tiny BG2 screen. I read this:
"change resolution in your baldur.lua file"

Well, I would love it if someone could please dumb this down for me. I've played this game before and loved it, I want to get back into it, but lately I feel like an old lady complaining about small pictures and fonts and not understanding the technical solution...
I would love some help, please!

Could you provide a screenshot of how the game looks for you and what you wish to change, please?

I went into NVIDIA Control Panel and changed something to make it the size you see now.
But, for example, everything at the bottom used to be so much bigger. Now it's hard to even read one line of dialogue, let alone many when something exciting is happening.
Also, the portraits on the right side of the screen in the first game were so big that there was just a little bit of gray under the last character. The way it is now, you could fit a half-dozen more portraits.
I would love it if everything could fit my screen. Thank you very much for your help!

Change the resolution of your desktop to a smaller one and try to work with Graphics options in-game, especially "Scale User Interface".
