Report a translation problem
For Jargas, I have no clue cause that doesn't even make sense how that would happen. I expect the entire City is hostile because you didn't finish Jarlaxle's quest in the time allowed. I don't think there's any way to fix that.
The other option for both of you would be to use a save game editor (or just the CLUAConsole if you know EXACTLY what you're doing) and tinker until you found the appropriate variables to reset the quest.
I did try putting the gems back and grabbing them again btw, but nothing happened :) Luckily I was rather overpowered and was about to finish the Underdark part altogether, so I just went with the story and everything turned out OK (I probably missed getting XP for that quest, but I don't really care about it) :)
Warning to others to be wary of this quest I guess. other than the city attacking me now i was lucky enough to have a quick save right before i grab the gems that take me to my pocket prison.
