Worse romance ever? (spoilers)
Neera's was pretty bad at the end... If I was my character I wouldn't be chasing her all across Faerun after every time we sleep *facedesk*

Aerie's was almost unbearable and I wanted to strangle her every time she spoke, but at least she got over it and she and my character raised a family at the end.

And that were the only two I've done so far and I'll be doing the rest later

Anyone wanna share their experiences with the romances?

Hexxat's was really kinda flat. The character is solid but there weren't anywhere near enough or deep enough interactions with !charname and the ending text in ToB was just bleh. There was more in it about that stupid woman who gives Hexxat her missions than there was about Hexxat and !Charname and what they did afterwards! It's basically 'OH NOES CABRINA WAS SLIGHTLY MIFFED! SHE TOTALLY TOLD EVERYONE HOW MEAN THE BHAALSPAWN WAS AND SHE WAS VERY SAD. LIKE REALLY REALLY SAD GUYS, THIS IS IMPORTANT. Uh... hexxat and the bhaalspawn get a house too I guess. The end.'

The best romances imo are those of Jaheira and Viconia, my current character is romancing Jaheira and I like all the side missions with Jaheira. I have played throug all the romances mutiple times over the years and my favorites are:

1. Jaheira
2. Viconia
3. Aerie
4. Anomen (arrogant bastard :)
I havent played with the new npc's yet, i cant stand their voice-overs they sound so cheap.

Viconia was pretty fun to romance... i had a lawful good character, so love didn't stay in the air for long... does anyone remember the love triangle with aerie and haer'dalis? pretty fun too...

sorry to parrot mustard jelly but i agree jaheira's romance is the best one lots going on, hells one would think the developers were rooting this one as the cannon one for MALECHAR, followed VERY closely by viconia quirky and interesting dialogue, never dull.

yeah agree with you on aerie OP, not a problem with her voice but just her personality, sweet kid though.

heh, i was wondering if i had to chase neera around if i romanced her, she mentions leaving a lover in the past in one of her earlier conversations, i see if i chose her i wouldnt be far behind her(pun intended)

i have a question for you all, was tempted to romance dorn for the lulz, but fell for viconia's charm again.

has any one done dorn's romance? whats it like if i may ask?

Is the Neera romance as in depth and rewarding as the Jaheira one? My character is interested in both and Neera's doing the whole "her or me" speech so I amn't sure...

No, Neera's romance isn't as involved as Jaheiras. It's definitely worth a playthrough, as Neera has some good lines, and also gives CHARNAME like, the best pep talk/uplifting story ever.

I enjoy Neera's character and voice acting, but even as a Neera fan, I still think her romance arc is pretty weak. There are some gems here and there, but Jaheira/Viconia/Aerie are all overall better told.

Yeah Neera's personality is fun in the first BG but not so much in this one she's more serious and less bubbly in this one and one of the best mages to have if you don't want Edwin...

Ah! That's what I was fearing. Well, thanks everyone.

My last character romanced Jaheira and I thought it was very well done, seeing how she doesn't just fall head over heels for him, and how she gets to know him gradually before slowly admitting her feelings. Neera's liking of him just seems sudden and a bit out of place. Well, I picked Neera for wanting something new, and I'll see where it goes...

On my last Playthrough I tried Jaheria, I have to say it wasn't as good as I hoped it to be, I thought she didn't really evole much as a romantic character...plus, well, it just felt odd, certainly after playing through BG1 then straight into 2. That and though her voice acting is amazing (they all are), in my opinion, I never had chills.

Viconia I have never really done it in game but I experianced it through an Oblivion mod where the entire script that the main character and Viconia has (You can get her for Skyrim to btw) and it seemed really nice. Though my only gripe is that you spend most of your time arguing that acting as a couple, then again, that's the point and I havn't seen many Romance stories, certainly in games that are like hers.

Aerie on the other hand...she's one of the reasons I want to play the entire game again just to see if I still get chills from a certain scene in ToB. I know she can test your patience and you feel more like a councilor than a lover but if you stick with it, for me, it gives that little bit of extra drama in ToB that, at least from Jaheria, was missing. Makes ToB that much more important and personal. That her voice and theme tune is my personal fav...why Minsc and Boo didn't get one is beyond me though! ;P

the helm of opposite alignment would change that.
