Character Import Question
Just wondering if I beat the game can I import my character to a new game, kind of like a new game+, or is it only importing from BG1 to BG2?
Thanks.

Yes. In both games it is possible to import any character file to a new game.

I am not sure about importing a completed BG2 PC back to BG1, because of the XP cap and the fact that many abilities, spells, items, etc., don't exist in BG1. You might need some mods. I am thinking it would work if you were using BGT. (Your PC would import, just not sure what they would carry "back" from BG2.)

Perfect, my plan was to beat the game on non-LoB difficulty then import that character when I do LoB since it sounds so tedious, figured it might give me a leg up on the early game. Thanks

yeah you can import any character file. I've imported a End ToB BG2 character into BG1, you lose your HLAs and I tihnk it caps you at sometihng like 161 HP. Didn't play around with it too much because an RPG where you no longer level up is kinda lame to me.

if you import into BG2 you should keep your HLAs. I think the end of SoA buffs of immunity to weapons +1 and lower is only really useful if you DO do this.

In my current playthrough I'm using the bard that I used with my first playthrough in story mode. She isn't my main character of this playthrough, though. But it is handy to have a level 29 bard who can set numerous spike traps as a backup character as I go through the game with a cleric.
