Otilukes Resilient sphere.
I thought I read that they patched it so that you can use on your party members and it will work like it was meant to. But for me they still can save vs spell to stop it.

Its actually mechanically labeled as a "hostile" spell and its meant to have a saving throw even when you are casting it on party members.

yeah, they need to turn it into a nested spell with a hostile and non-hostile version you can choose from at the time of casting.

Oh I realized I read that on icewind dale version LOL. I have them all so got confused.

But they should have done the same for BG2. It supposed to work 100% time on party memebers so you can protect them.

The game may less bugs but sadly Beamdog and the other companies apparently have never played neither PNP and PC DnD game, the rules seem what ever they wanted them to be, granted Bioware was almost as bad

Beamdog implemented spells as far as their in-game descriptions stated. Which I think is largely the same approach the BG2 fixpack took frankly. Bioware left a lot of things missing when it came to spells and a lot more inconsistencies than you are probably aware of.

In the case of Otiluke's Resilient Sphere for instance they failed to include things like granting immunity to many if not all of the various types of elemental damage.

Anyways, changing the spell so that it doesn't have a saving throw against party members is a pretty simple change in Near infinity and PnP implementation for something like this is best left to modders. kaiyl_kariashi may very well be looking at including it in his PnP mod. You could probably do it by doing not much more than copy+pasting the IWDEE version.
