Disappearing Items

Something like the amulet of power, given to you by the head of the shadow thieves when you cough up the 15,000 GP is not an item you would just chuck in a garbage pail or hock in a pawn shop. For one thing it protects against level drain by hostile vampires. It was supposed to be around my main character's neck, but it's disappeared.

Not only that, but my periapt of proof against poison has also wandered off, as well as a charged item necklace of protection. Is this a new bug???? Random items just disappear into thin air????

I've never heard of this "bug" so if it is a bug, it would be new. However, other explanations seem more likely (such as you accidentally selling items, or the item being placed on the ground when you are given quest item - but you get an explicit "Your items are on the ground warning" if that happens.

Have you been attacked by any hostile Nisheruu or Haekeshar? They're pretty bad for eating magical items on the target they attack (technically they drain charges, but most magical items, aside from wands, don't have any so are instantly destroyed).

They can drain charges from wands, but I never heard of them eating the amulet of power. It doesn't have charges for one thing. And, that's one item I always give my lead player. I've never lost it before. The one the head of the shadow thieves gives you for your 15,000, protects against level drain, vital for wading into teams of vampires.

I just had the same thing happen to my bag of holding, and I cant get that bag back without starting back in chapter 3. Darn game doesn't let you go back to Saguahin city or Brynnlaw!
