Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Price too high?
When is this game going on sale? I can buy Elder Scrolls: Skyrim or Dark Souls 2 for almost the same price as BG II

Even Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 are cheaper than this game and probably a lot longer I'm guessing...

This is a remake of a game many people would call a classic which allows play on newer computers. People will either love it or hate it so expect the price to stay around $20 at least even in a few years but as for a sale try around christmas. Should you want the game but don't mind missing out on the extra features the remake has try looking for the original if you can run it as that is cheaper.
You can buy the classic edition on gog.com for $9.99. Same game without the bells and whistles of the Enhanced Edition and it will run on modern computers as well as this version.

I, personally, don't think it's overpriced. I woud pay more for this because the two games you mentioned don't come even close to the greatness of BG2, in my opinion.

Also, Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 don't have an Enhanced Edition, therefore both are cheaper.
That's why I want it to go on sale, I already beat Baldurs Gate 1 about 10 times already with almost all classes.

This game may be a classic but only a hipster would pay that price for a game that old. Fallout 1 and 2 are both $9.99 each and they are in the same genre and almost the same game as BG (Play style I mean)

That's like Ancients 1 and 2 for DOS or Castle of The Wind, or Ragnarok (If you can find the original DOS Ragnarok anywhere) being on Steam and being $20 because ''It's a classic and old''

I think I just revealed my age by name dropping old games...Haha!

I bought The Bards Tale for $9.99 and it comes with all 3 of the original Bards Tale games, Like Ancients style gameplay. When you boot them up it does the old Apple computer startup which I thought was hilarious. Ahhh nostalgia :)

I'm an "old tart" myself, so no shame in revealing your age =D
But what I was trying to say is that this version is an arguably "superior" version of the classic. That's why they are asking for more. If the Fallout series got an Enhanced Edition as well, you can be certain that they would too ask for more than the currently price of $9.99.

Also, like you, I played BG to death (the second one). Lost count of how many classes I've played and finished the game with. I still bought it again here (both games). So I guess I'm a hipster =P

But I see your point on waiting for a sale as well. I entertained that idea myself, then I gave in.

I wish they would put the old Ragnarok on Steam, I'd buy that one for sure. Never has the words ''You have contracted Lycanthropy'' scared anyone so much

I just searched Youtube for Ragnarok to show you a video, then realized it was my brother when I heard his voice Haha! Priceless...

Dungeonz Of Kroz is the oldest ''RPG'' I've ever played O_o (Not the remake)
Seems like fun. Reminds me of the Tales of Maj'Eyal:

I both love and hate this game. =D
Might have to buy that one, looks like an updated version of Ragnarok :)
I recommend it. Insane amount of types of characters to play. Be prepared to die a lot though =D
I play Dark Souls, I'm not worried about dying a lot. I honestly think games these days are too easy. You and I are probably old school hardcore gamers, death dealing is in our blood because were warriors.

Remember how hard Ninja Gaiden was on 360? I loved it :)

I'm way off subject now haha!

I agree. The games of old were, almost all of them, difficult as hell. We still enjoyed them all. =D
No save games either, only huge ass passwords. If you died... back to the start of the level. That is IF the game bothered to give you passwords at all. haha

Yeah I'd seriously check out all of the Spiderweb Software games if you never have. They sure look janky but they are excellent rpgs. The Geneforge series is a personal favorite of mine, it has quite a unique setting.
Oh yes, I have them. Pretty good games. I just never got around to really play them. Eschalon Book is another good one.
Ok now I know you are my age to use a word like ''Janky'' haha!

well, bg2ee runs also on newer computers, like with 16:9 monitors. thats why i also bought postal 2 complete. because of the 16:9 display support. iirc, baldurs gate and icewind dale would only run in 4:3 in the original version. and theres also a lot of enhancements in bg2ee. i think, its worth the price. personally, i would have spent the money only for the 16:9 support without all the extras. but overall, bg2ee is a great gaming experience and im very glad, one of my all time fave games got an overhaul, so dont expect it to become cheaper in the next time. spend the bucks - the game is worth it.
