I, personally, don't think it's overpriced. I woud pay more for this because the two games you mentioned don't come even close to the greatness of BG2, in my opinion.
Also, Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 don't have an Enhanced Edition, therefore both are cheaper.
This game may be a classic but only a hipster would pay that price for a game that old. Fallout 1 and 2 are both $9.99 each and they are in the same genre and almost the same game as BG (Play style I mean)
That's like Ancients 1 and 2 for DOS or Castle of The Wind, or Ragnarok (If you can find the original DOS Ragnarok anywhere) being on Steam and being $20 because ''It's a classic and old''
I think I just revealed my age by name dropping old games...Haha!
I bought The Bards Tale for $9.99 and it comes with all 3 of the original Bards Tale games, Like Ancients style gameplay. When you boot them up it does the old Apple computer startup which I thought was hilarious. Ahhh nostalgia :)
But what I was trying to say is that this version is an arguably "superior" version of the classic. That's why they are asking for more. If the Fallout series got an Enhanced Edition as well, you can be certain that they would too ask for more than the currently price of $9.99.
Also, like you, I played BG to death (the second one). Lost count of how many classes I've played and finished the game with. I still bought it again here (both games). So I guess I'm a hipster =P
But I see your point on waiting for a sale as well. I entertained that idea myself, then I gave in.
I just searched Youtube for Ragnarok to show you a video, then realized it was my brother when I heard his voice Haha! Priceless...

Dungeonz Of Kroz is the oldest ''RPG'' I've ever played O_o (Not the remake)

I both love and hate this game. =D
Remember how hard Ninja Gaiden was on 360? I loved it :)

I'm way off subject now haha!
No save games either, only huge ass passwords. If you died... back to the start of the level. That is IF the game bothered to give you passwords at all. haha
Yeah I'd seriously check out all of the Spiderweb Software games if you never have. They sure look janky but they are excellent rpgs. The Geneforge series is a personal favorite of mine, it has quite a unique setting.
