Are most of these quests timed?
I've been trying to pick up as many quests as i can, to get them all done in one fell swoop, but im curious if they are timed, and if there are consequences for not finishing them in time.

Minsc keeps bugging me about going to the Umar Hills, i picked up Keldorn, but i havent completed that cult quest yet. I have the quest to go to Trademeet, i picked up the Planar Sphere quest, and i just finished the Thief stronghold quest line, because Yoshimo wouldn't shut up about going to see the leader, and i got the feeling he would leave if i didnt. Each time i start one of these quests, it seems like something more important (and timed) pops up, like Jaheiras personal quest, and now Aerie's.

Is there a timer on a lot of these quest? Or can i just take my time exploring and having fun?

Character quests are kind of timed. The character will break party to go do that quest. But you can still go and find them at the quest location if you havnt completed the chapter yet. The other ones arent timed unless they say so. But if you move a few chapters beyond some may disappear.

Some, not all. I THINK the quest to return the poisoned man to the harper hold is timed. Only because one time I just didn't want to bother and left him in my pack for ages and he was delivered dead.
Other than that one, to my knowledge if you have a timed quest the character will prompt you before leaving the party to go do it on their own, or because you won't help. Example: Edwin's Nether Scrolls quest, he'll tell you about it at first. But then he'll say "Hey, we really should go to the graveyard district soon" and only then, if you ignore his request to do the quest, will there be issues.

there's a few timed ones. Any character that travels in the party with you is timed, but usually they just leave and try to go do it on their own, and when you go to the place they'll usually be there waiting for you to pick them up, though I think I recall Korgan turning hostile if you keep refusing to do his quest too many times.

Thanks. Minsc seemed to give me one final warning about going to Umar Hills, so i ended up going there. I keeping switching out characters based on my needs, but doing so seems to just give me more timed quests to do lol.

I wouldn't be 100% sure but I believe some quest timers continue for party members even if you kick them out of the group.. if they were about to get pissed and leave but you kicked them, when you pick them back up they can immediately say they are leaving, that kind of thing. The romances however don't fail now if you drop the characters from party unlike the original games.

There are few quests that are really timed. In some cases, characters will remind you about some quests, but that dosen't necessarily mean they are timed. One huge exeption, however is the quests from Phaere and Solaufein in Ust-Natha (Underdark). They ARE timed. Time limit is from one to several days in the game-time. Read what they say carefully.
