Protection from Normal Weapons. (ToB)
So, in ToB i just got the upgraded Bladesinger chain that protects against normal weapons, my question is this. Who is still even using nonmagic weapons by ToB? That seems like a somewhat pointless enchantment, unless nonmagic items are far more common than im running into them so far. everyone and his dog seems to have magic weapons.

It's useless in TOB. I can't remember any real threats using normal weapons.

Even in SoA protection from normal weapons has little value apart from when you are fighting the most basic of enemies. In ToB you'll be hard pressed to find any enemy that is still using normal weapons (and chances are its going to just be the guards in Saradush).

Kua-Toa's (the fish people you meet in Underdark and one of Bhaalspawn enclaves in ToB) use normal weapons. And they hit fairly hard too.

But yeah, I agree with OP. Fire Elementals & Skeleton Warriors (the ones you summon at lvl 15+) are also immune to normal weapons by default and you get them a lot earlier than Bladesinger chain mail. It has limited use on a Bard or multiclassed Mage though, you can wear it & cast Protection from Magic Weapons to become immune to all hits for 4 rounds.
