The Mind Flayers lair in the Underdark south east exit tips
Once you enter you can't leave so make a save game before entering this map
When you make the mind control circlets you will get 4 of them save them only to control a mind flayer from the liquid room to control and open doors. You can only make 4, if you use them up in fights your stuck
the liquid room NW part of map will spawns a mind flayer that you can return to to control and open doors but it spawns only so many times then stops spawning so don't stay there for xp or you will get stuck in the lair too
These guys are tough to west side rooms used Imoen to stealth advance so I could see them then retreated and sent in multiple summoned monsters at a time, several times to weaken their ranks and still ....
hope this helps I'm doing this darn thing the third time now because of what I mentioned.

Mordekaines swort (lv 7) + haste on it is a valid solution, they can not stun ore kill this summoned swort nor can their slaves dmg it.

my standard tactic for most things I find annoying is:

1. Open door with stealth character.
2. Lob in multiple webs with sequencers or multiple mages.
3. Lob in multiple cloud kills with multiple mages or wands.
4. Close door.

very cheesy, but also could work in a tabletop game as well, with the caveat that you have a method to hold the door(s) shut.

drink a potion of shielding. It sets all your saves to -20. This will counter every stun and charm they spam at you.

disablers won't work on flayers, they have 100% magic resistance.

Thats for sure so do the (cant remember name) enemies at the elven city too, have to just pound them. That Mordekaines sword that the other guy recommended works well on them, scout ahead with Imoen then send in the summoned monsters on them

From memory, they have 90% magic resistance, not 100% so it will take time, but the method still works.

Both web and cloudkill stacks, so if you stack enough of them, it will work, it may not be the quickest, but it will work.

It gives an lv 5 Cleric spell which make you immune aiganst mind attacks, no stun ect. You can finish them if in meele, but they can still hit you with their tentacles and reduce int, so Mincs is in the greatest danger, but they need several hits and they die in meele if they can not stun you.

Hi there.

Summoned undead minions will crush them (cleric lvl3/wiz lvl5). No matter the level of the skeletons, they will cut through them with ease. Aslo you lvl4 wizard spell to shapechange, which make you able to shapeshift into an ooze (100% magic resistant), still watch out for thei brain suck attack (one hit kill).
Also there are some spemm that lower their magic resistance.
In any case skeletons are a guaranteed success, even more if some haste and bless (to name a few) are cast on them.

Hope this help
Have fun

Skeletons work not for their minions, Mordekaines Sworts are immune to all dmg you face there, even meele attacks from their slaves. But aiganst Mindflayers alone sure, no brain no problem.
