OH MY GOD!!!
I just got really far in the beginning. I used to die in 5 seconds but now i got the hang of it... And then i beat this creature with one eye after unlocking the door with the golem and i open up this box. Apparently i got poisoned and then it all ended. Didn't even get to save before it happened. NOW I HAVE TO START FROM THE BEGINNING AGAIN (quicksave).... Wtf... This has been the third time this happened. Is there an autosave mod or anything to save every 5 minutes?

Geez i feel foolish.

Every time you move through a major area, the game will autosave. If there's no autosave, then it sounds like you're still in the first area of the starter dungeon. The "creature with one eye" I'm guessing is the Otyugh in the central chamber. This is a starter enemy that is not at all threatening. My recommendation to you would be to save before you go into every single room. Experiment with the spells that Imoen and Jaheira have to try to make things easier.

Consider reading the very excellent class FAQ to determine what your main character should be and some tips on how to use NPCs: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/470765-baldurs-gate-ii-throne-of-bhaal/faqs/9853

Make sure to search for traps before opening containers. Irenicus' bedroom is filled with traps.

How do i search for traps? Is that a thief skill? and Otyugh is the monster but it's the traps giving me the problem. I think that's pretty BS for a newbie though. And why did i die in 2 seconds of the poison? I was full hp.

Select Imoen, and look at her ability bar. One of the buttons will be 4 little triangles arranged in a square shape, this is the "Find Traps" ability. It's a toggle that will run until you manually turn it off or perform a task other than movement (attack, cast a spell, open a door, etc). While Find Traps is on, every few seconds the thief will check their trapfinding skill against any traps in the area. If a trap is found, you'll see a red box appear that gives the location of the trap. Make sure you have the Auto-Pause option set to activate on finding a trap. Once the trap is located, you select the "Thieving" option (looks kind of like a figure-8) and when you mouseover the trap, the icon should change to disable. Click and away you go. Be aware that if this is a long thin trap, that you'll want to position your thief towards the middle before you try to disarm. If you're at an end, the thief will try to walk to the middle and set off the trap in the process.

Thank you. Any possibility they'll fail and die? ((just a question in case i should save before disabling the trap))

For poison, level 2 druid/cleric spell slots are generally pretty bad. Poison is nowhere near as prevelant in BG2 as it was in BG1, but you want Jaheira to have at least 2 slots with the Slow Poison spell memorized. This removes any poison you might be afflicted with.

Mhhhkay thanks

Failing to disarm a trap doesn't trigger the trap. Imoen will be able to handle every trap inside Chateau Irenicus, but her thief skills are pretty puny for later. However, in a short while you'll be given a much more competent thief, and Imoen won't be staying with you very long anyway. Don't bother having her memorize any new spells. Save the scrolls for later.

BG2 is also not the beginning of a game, it's the middle of a rather large saga. Not that the first game was less brutal...it's actually even harder since your HP totals are lower and basically every enemy can kill you in a 1-2 good hits.

The important aspect of Baldur's Gate is to play smarter. Read your spells carefully, scout, and be paranoid. Leveling isn't ever going to make you stronger. Leveling gives you more options, but doesn't by itself make you stronger (especially in BG2, since with the exception of spellcasters, everyone else plateaus at around lvl 10-12 and what gear they have becomes more important then what level they are (and even spellcasters don't need extra levels..it's possible to easily clear all of BG2 without ever gaining a single level or exploiting resting as long as you're careful and use your resources wisely) if you make bad choices with the means you have available.

I never said it was the beginning. Obviously it wouldn't be hence BG2. I quote
"I just got really far in THE beginning"

and that's just a general bs kind of answer (no offence). That's like saying "to win chess, you need to think and strategize".... Well of course... That's the whole game. My answer is solved anyway so unless people have relevant questions, i don't think this needs to be bumped. Thanks anyway.
