Demogorgon solo

I finally did it. There is no achievement to prove it, but I finally killed demogorgon solo. Long time goal, finally completed. I want to brag, even if I can't prove what I'm bragging about :)

You don't seem to show any of your achievements on your profile. LVL 5 should be enough to have most steam info visible, but you don't have that on.

I got my solo achievement in the last playthrough when I beat the game on a swashbuckler class. Most problems I ever had were the mages and their damn stun spells. Also, it taught me how powerful traps/snares were. The thief seems a solid class to try solo, therefore.

Plus, you can get a pretty high level from all trap disarms and lockpicking, because there'll be no party XP share. I beat the last chapter(8) at level 36 and I didn't do almost any side missions after chapter 3 or 4 when I was already level 28. So I just rushed to the end and almost reached level cap without trying.

Nope, shadowdancer/mages can't set traps.

I decided a long time ago to not solo because battles are frustratingly hard thanks to the amount of time and/or inventory you need to spend. The alternative is to metagame and cheese so hard that you barely expend effort.

Wow WELL PLAYED
Im replaying baldurs gate series after a decade and I have no idea how i beat the demogorgon the first time.
i got the ritual scroll from the ghost after i went to question odren after talking to demo.
Im trying to fight him now but i dont fully understand what im supposed to do with the scroll if anything.
So far my strategy has been to use the scroll before i initiate the fight to seal/weaken him? Distract the miriliths with mordikens blade i have jaheira(ironskin) and a planetar both with fire prot kite demogorgon while my mages cast breach and ruby ray and my mc kensai attacks
ive only been able to get him down to half so far and somehow jaheira seems to take dmg with full phys and fire protection
Also it seems like smite and power atk does nothing maybe critical strike is best?

Sounds like you have it mostly figured out, just some tips,
Strip his magical resistance with Pierce Shield(He's immune to Lower resistance spell), and then have your mages hit him as hard as they can. A mage with robe of Vecna and spell alacrity cast can do some serious damage to him before alacrity wears off.

and i still dont understand if the scroll affects combat or not

Ones that deal magical damage work the best, like Skull trap(Criminally underrated lower level spell) and Horrid Wilting. Biggest problem with skull trap is it will hit your party aswell.
I honestly don't know if the scroll helps combat.
