You get the blade from Seamon after chapter 4 if you accept his offer. The hilt can be obtained after you killed the githyanki when they try to get the blade back. (Usually during chapter 6).

^ Or summon a planetar since that's the weapon they have. By the way, is the swords effect like greater deathblows where theres a level limit to what you could one shot? Or does it just one shot everything regardless of level?

I can answer that. It's not an instant kill (which would be ridiculous of course); the struck foe must make a save (I think v death) or be killed. It will be clear once you get the sword forged and read the description, but that's what I remember when I used it in an earlier game. In a way, I think it's fairer than what most PnP editions of D&D do w/ vorpal swords.

Come to think of it, maybe it's not a vorpal sword per se. It might work like the 2nd edition Githyanki Silver Swords, where it's attempting to sever your astral cord or something like that. In any case, the end result is the same.

I think Balors & Planetars are understood to have actual vorpal weapons, though.

The silver sword is a good weapon. Upgraded Ravager is better as it is a true vorpal weapon with no saving throw. Ravager + GWW = certain death.
