Imoen romance mod, allow multiple romances option?
I've just downloaded and Installed the Imoen romance mod and I'm in the installation phase, it's asking:
Install Component [Romance Option]?
choose one:
1] Allow Multiple Romance's
2] Don't Allow multiple Romance (Only valid for Vanilla romances)

I have a vague idea what this is but can't find any clarification anywhere, can someone tell me what this option changes?

I just did a playthrough with the Mazzy romance mod and it had a similar feature.

1) Allow Multiple Romances: You can also romance a vanilla option like Jaheira, Anomen, etc. without it breaking the romance with your mod character. Keep in mind, unless otherwise stated by the mod, you'll only get one paired ending at the end of the game though, with the mod character most likely taking precedent.

2) Don't Allow Multiple Romances (Only valid for Vanilla romances): This locks out vanilla options from romance (or forces a choice between options at some point like when Aerie and Jaheira fight over the MC) if you are in a romance with the mod character. The reason it specifically only mentions vanilla characters is because it doesn't take into account OTHER modded characters. If I had the Mazzy mod and the Imoen mod installed, the two wouldn't detect each other as legitimate/vanilla romances, so you could still likely romance both...but dialogue would likely clash harshly and I wouldn't know how the paired ending would work (maybe the mod you installed last would take priority?).

Hope that helps! I went with option 2 as it felt better for roleplaying, but if you want to experience more content/dialogue options, then option 1 may be the route for you.

Does selecting don't allow multiple romances prevent me from the vanilla romances if I want to do one of those instead of the modded relationship?

Also, in chapter 2, should I quickly gather the companions I want and go straight to Spellhold to rescue Imoen so that I have her available for all the side content or should I do a majority of the companion side quests first? Will holding off have an impact on the new content from the mod or is it safe to wait until after I've thoroughly explored?

Unfortunately, I can only assume based on the Mazzy mod. But my experience was that it didn't prevent me from vanilla romances for chapters 1/2 even though I went option 2 (Jaheira and Aerie were still after me!) so rushing the story didn't really matter, it just made me make a choice once I decided to romance Mazzy (which didn't open up until after Spellhold). I'm guessing you can absolutely choose a vanilla romance over mod if you choose, and snub that romance once you do Spellhold if you so choose. Can't say 100% though, as I haven't played this mod yet, but I'm sure to try it eventually!

All romances in BG2 are divided into two stages. Stage Nr. 1 : flirting. Stage Nr. 2 committed. If one reaches Stage Nr. 2 with any NPC partner the other possible love prospects will turn away from you, understandably. Meaning their flirting (stage Nr. 1) will stop immediately.

Until this breaking point you can play out the quests the NPC bring with them without any problem. After breaking point it depends: Some turned away NPC girls will leave your party for good, essentially taking with them their quests.

The above goes for all vanilla and EE romance-able NPCs, but also for most romances brought to you by mods.

The multi romance patch provided with the mod you’re talking about will not prevent the breakup of other romance mods, only the vanilla and EE girls. For other NPC romance partners you would need other mods to keep them from turning away.

Hope it helps.
