Infinite XP bug with quest

okay so I found an awesome bug that people may want to know about.

1. When doing the character quest for Haer Dalis, before you save him and his troupe from the planar prison, stealth in or use an invisible spell on your MAIN CHARACTER.

2. Go talk to haer dalis (not the girl) while stealthed with your main character. He will act like you kicked him out of the group and ask if you really want him to leave. Tell him to stay with you.

3. Talk with the troupe leader lady and she will act as though you finished the quest and will give you all the XP for it. However, she won't transport you out of the planar prison. Talk to her again because every time you do, she gives you the same quest XP. You can sit there getting XP for a really long time for however many levels you wish.

When you're ready to leave, just remove haer dalis from the group and tell him to wait here or whatever. Then speak to the lady a final time and your group will be transported out of the dungeon.

Every time I've taken advantage of this bug, everything has worked out fine, however, the first time I did it, all of my armor dissappeared several hours after exploiting the bug. Every time since then has worked out great. I would suggest getting your final group together before doing Haer Dalis' quest so you don't have any waste in the group that you're going to get rid of later anyway. Clerics and monks work best with this process as they scale with level rather than known spells and gear.

tried for fun as i just completed planar prison quest, level 12 with my sorc and have a ready save. didn't work for me, she just says "you require something, child?" and repeats that before the cut-scene of teleporting back to the inn cuts in

Could it be a bug in your savegame? i had some weird bugs.

Nah, i've done it multiple times. Did you stealth in and speak with Haer Dalis first? It works for me every time.

Yes but not with my PC. With Hexxat. Maybe different bugs happens in different OS. Mine's Windows 10.1
Anyone else having this bug? It's probably an "individual bug" IMO that only happens to your savegame. I discovered that there are so many random loot (different scrolls) whenever I load and reload and open the same chests

Ooooohhh... Try your main character. I've always done it with the main character every time. Hexxat wouldn't do it because Haer Dalis is talking like you kicked him out of the group. It has to be your main character.

Try again. This time with the main character and not Hexxat.

She's a sorc and doesn't have the invisibility spell. I tried with Invis potion, she just says "Need anything child?" repeatedly then if u unpause, 5 seconds later the cutscene takes over and u'r teleported back to the inn.

Have u tried reload auto save leave the area and try again? or reload earlier game. probably your savegame is bugged if you're reloading and trying and trying with the same savegame.

Should report this bug. But based on the responses in this thread, probably no one else getting it. Like i read on another thread, someone got a bug, he/she disintegrated Fikraag and gore was off so still gets the scales.

Or maybe you need to start a new game, there's plenty of those bugs that **cannot be** resolved until you restart a new playthrough.

No. I've done this with every saved game and party since I discovered the bug. It's not just a saved game thing.

Maybe technical issues could be causing this bug. What OS are u on? Perhaps u should report this bug, coz im not sure how to fix this. The only such bug I remembered was the one with Rejiek on vanilla BG2 that gives repeated XP if you force attack and corner him, but this has been fixed for BG2EE.

Anyone else getting the bug? It's weird hrmmm. Luckily not happening to me..

Tried with Improved Invisibility scrolls, using savegame editor. But my savegame works fine. No bug so far. Not sure how to help the Thread Starter with this since I didn't encounter such issues.

I'm on Windows 10. Nah, I'd rather not report this bug. I love this bug! Makes it much easier to see which classes do really well late game.

Ok, Windows 10.1 (which I'm on) is a difference maybe. You saw thescreenshot i posted? Raelis Shai just says "What can I do for you, child" repeatedly. But seems noone else got the bug? It's probably your PC or some software causing the bug probably. I can;t explain this further as everyone have different PC, OS and different specifications.

For me, its cheating but the game has an exp cap. So you'll still reach this exp cap anyway. Just like my friend's friend spoilt our multiplayer game by editing into his inventory a Bag of Holding and Ammo Belt due to limited inventory space. Now I can't find the joy of playing MP anymore. Hopefully he doesn't loot the Bag of Holding in Spellhold to be fair.
