Missing Carsomyr

So, I was playing 'All-Strongholds' using Tweaks and everything was going great. Completed all stronghold tasks in Chapter 2, except for the Carsomyr/Firkraag quest. Then I went to Spellhold and so on. I am now back in Athkatla and decided I had the power to take him out. Could not remember if I got the task or not so I went to Sir Ryan and he said nothing but "hello." Same with the other Paladins. Went to Firkraag's lair and he was now surprisingly easy. Got his dragon scales and some loot, but no Carsomyr! I assumed this would be on him even if I was not 'pretending' to be a Paladin.

Not planning on using it, but just wanted to complete the quest. Far too late for a reload back to chapter 2.

It is not Sir Ryan you should talk to. You get the Firkraag Quest from Firkraag himself in human form, in the Copper Coronet. He invites you to his lands to kill some ogres, and promises 10.000 Gold as reward, then he departs. This likely happens very early in chapter 2 when you first enter the Copper Coronet.

Once you kill the Ogres (that are holy knights) you are aproached by the old lord of the lands, and take shelter at his mansion. His kid gets kidnapped, and then your quest truly starts, to rescue Garren Windspears Child and put an end to Firkraags Tyrrany.

If you reload it should not be difficult to see if this quest is active in your journal. There is no reason that Firkraag no longer has Carsomyr.

Back in the days Firkraag was one of the few "HARD" encounters that many delayed until after Underdark. Carsomyr should still be there as reward if you kill the Dragon.

But if you kill him with Disintegrate, or Flesh to stone, the loot, or some of it, can get destroyed. I would reload the Battle with the dragon and make sure i'd hack him to death once he get close to death.

All I want to add is Carsomyr was part of the loot here the day before yesterday, and PC is a berserker7>cleric.

Actually, this was exactly what I did (memory from the original game.) I completed Firkraag's Challenge and all the Radiant Heart quests, except for killing the dragon and getting Carsomyr. Then I went and did the whole Underdark.

I reloaded and did the battle again. Same result. I got a fair amount of gold, scrolls, cloak, etc., but no Holy Avenger. And I never disintegrate. One tough summons for distraction and a GW attack by the archer. I got some +3 long sword that seems ToB more than SoA. But no Carsomyr.

Very odd... I've gone through the quest with Firkraag's quest twice - once with a bard and once with a cleric (who can't even use the sword) - and Carsomyr dropped both times. It makes me wonder what kind of bug you stumbled across.

Huh, what?! Which one? The Dragon Blade +3 perhaps? Tazok owns it (in the rooms before Firkraag's lair), if you've had it since Siege of Dragonspear.

Firkraag is also supposed to drop his scales, that makes the Red Dragon Heavy Plate Mail +X if you give them to the dwarf. If you get neither you have a serious bug there.

And the scroll too is important, i think (excuse my poor non-google memory), i think Firkraag drops the recipe for Crom Feyr ? Without it you cannot make the War Hammer +5 that many thinks is the best weapon in SOA

I got the scales. Already had the Crom Fayr. Must have got that scroll from elsewhere?

Aster's Edge. I looked and it is from SoD. I now recall I did install some SoD in BG2 mod. Maybe that replaced Carsomyr? Seems crazy if it did.

Ah, that's Caelar Argent's sword and can only be used by her. Therefore it doesn't transfer into BG2EE.

Yeah, i just figured that Crom Feyr scroll comes from the other SoA dragon, the Black one in Umar Hills. Maybee you need to 'not' do all the Paladin quests completed? I have never heard tha before, just a thought. Still unknown why Carsomyr doesn't drop...

Azters Edge 'seems' to be a fitting reward, would it not be for the fact that Paladins other than Caelar cannot use it. It has some 'holiness' to it. Likely, if you get this after Firkraag, there is some Mod conflict that inserts this over Carsomyr.

Decent weapon for a 3 million XP UAI Thief though...the 30% MR is sweet
