Shield of Balduran Disappearing?
It’s been awhile since I’ve done the cult of the eyeless. I’m on the bridge battle to get to the underground chamber and am fighting beholders / gauths. Every fight my shield seems to disappear. I have SCS installed. Is this something new? I know in pnp gauths can eat magic items but I can’t seem to kill them fast enough as by round 2-3 the shield is gone. Checking the chat logs I don’t see anything that would potentially “destroy” the shield so I’m not sure what’s going on?

Which mods exactly?

TACTICAL: Beholders use their Death, Petrification and Telekinesis eyestalks; they use the Telekinesis eyestalk to steal some party items (notably the Shield of Balduran, if you have it).

Nevermind it appears the telekinetic power of a beholder can pull the shield to them. Once I kill them it drops in the ground. Pretty neat!

Wow, that's interesting. I haven't had a beholder do that to me. Maybe the power of the shield prompts them to do that??

Yeah I don’t remember it occurring either. But in the text box it said that the beholder used it’s telekinetic power to take the shield out of my grasp and hold onto it. Immediately after killing the beholder it was lootable. Also, this was for a normal beholder not the gauths. It must be an SCS thing and it seems random when they decide to use the power by round 2-4.

Probably is an SCS thing. I do not have any mods on my BG2EE.

Perhaps notice post #1. I've quoted the SCS documentation.

I saw your quote, but should have checked the link as well. I did not realize it was a link to SCS and therefore "connect the dots." Thanks
