spell cooldown mod
Is there any mod like this which completely eliminate the rest from the mages spell recharge and put in a cooldown instead even in battle? Minor spells faster recharge, higher levels a lot more... to me the dnd rest system is such an immersion breaking i always ignored the caster classes because of it, but im planning a new playthough with a mage or something like that.

Not that I know of, but you will like the spell improved alacrity which removes all time between casting! Put on the robe of venca and the amulet of power and go nuts!

My problem was never the casting time. I just dislike the idea that i clear 1 or 2 big groups, used up all spells and i have to rest in the room. 8 hours later or with heal 16hrs or more then go to the next room, clear that too, another 8 hrs rest here. It feels really stupid. My favourite one was in the Icewind Dale 1 where one rest was around 340 days or even 451 days, wtf :D Lore wise i hate this system.

It would be possible to make an item that restores spells using OPCODE Spell: Restore Lost Spells [261].
Then you can chose various criterias to trigger this effect. An item I made had a chance to trigger it on crit, for example.
To introduce proper cooldowns, and change the Vancian spell system would be way more difficult.

That sounds interesting. I will check this.

perhaps your can create a variation of the "wondrous Recall" spell for mages?

The issue isn't resting. The issue is resting without any resource management. In pnp you wouldn't use all your spells and rest after every fight. You would carefully choose your spells and only use them for big fights. For trash mobs you would use scrolls and wands, those would be your main mean of attack as a caster.
But without any rest limitation, those tactics don't arise and you just spam nukes and rest after every fight.
That's really my main grip with the infinity engine games.

Using wands will save on spell usage. All wands are rechargeable, just be sure to leave at least 1 charge in it. There are wands for several commonly used spells, fireball, cone of cold, lightning bolt, cloudkill, sleep, monster summoning, polymorph other, flamestrike (wand is named wand of the heavens), fear (works same as spell horror) and paralyzation (improved version of hold person as the save for the target appears much harder but limited to one target. I have used it on monsters as well as humanoids unlike hold person),
