XP cap BG 2 EE

I'm a little confused. I keep reading that SoA had an xp cap of 2.95 mil, which is raised to 8 mil in ToB, and that EE incorporates ToA. Does that mean that the cap is 8 mil even before reaching the Throne of Baal campaign?

Yes.

In particular, doing Watcher's Keep early in SoA will leave you massively overlevelled and over-geared for the rest of the SoA campaign.

the main thing is the high level abilities you start getting at 3 million XP, just don't use those abilities and you should be fine.

This game is the enhanced version of an old game. In the past, Shadows of Amn installed separated from Throne of Bhaal (thus the adventure ended at chapter 7). If no Throne of Bhaal was installed, the lvl cap was 2.95m XP.

Enhanced Edition mad SoA and ToB the same game, thus there's no talk anymore of xp cap of 2.95m, it's always 8m.
