Haer'Dalis is a whistly dude! If you want a companion that whistles, choose him!

if I had known how often he does his cheerful little whistle I would have picked him up earlier :) he's almost as good as a gnome! Also, if you give Haer one dot of long swords, he magically gets two dots out of it, somehow! :O I dunno if this is a bug or a feature. Additionally, since he's a bard type and they level fast, you end up with 4+ of each of his spins, which gives him 8+ instances of melf minute meteor madness or you shall not pass! while mazzy shoots them in the face from behind The Wall of Haer'Dalis. He doesn't have high spell levels, but what spells he can cast, like MMM or Skull Trap, they are cast at higher levels than the mages in your group. Then, Later on, apparently bards get some awesome HLA's, improved bard song, spike trap, etc

Blades are awesome and funny to play. Especially in solo runs they shine becouse they are jack of all trades with spells, pick pocket, spike traps, uai and much more :)

yeah, this quest is kind of a rollercoaster, though. I got haer'dalis! what a neat guy! he's some sorta weird intraplanar alien half-demon guy blade fellow! oh wait, he's gone :( oh well, i picked up Kundane going after him! yay! can't wait to use this! rawr, you big demon guy and air elementals! *goes to use Kundane in the very next fight against the air elementals and the big demon guy, GETS IMMEDIATLY HELD* oh, that's what I get for trying out the best short sword that literally just dropped instead of off-handing the short sword you find immediately in the beginning of the game. sigh.

If you want a good story, pick up both Haerdalis and Aerie, and dont Romance Aerie from the start. Wonderful RPG moments in BG2
