My evil bard is tearing through stuff :)
That said I've played that starting dungeon so many times, I hate it, but once you make it past the circus you got a whole city to venture around in off the bat.
So, what are you playing and whom do you have with you OP ?
The problem a lot of people have with Baldur's Gate 2 is that they have heard for years that its the best RPG of all time, however they have no experience with the 2nd Edition D&D rules and never played Baldur's Gate 1.
BG2 starts your character around 8th-10th level, depending on race and class, and to be honest thats pretty darn high level for starting in 2nd Edition, your character is already very well developed by level 9, and it can be a whole lot to take in.
I've always recommended playing through BG1 first, and importing your character to 2. it makes a very big difference in the game, at least it always has to me.
Also, if you want to really get the feel for 2nd edition combat, play Icewind Dale. It starts at level 1 and runs all the way to 20, has real strong combat, and is a great RPG in its own right, just not as story and character driven as the Baldur's Gate games.
like intercours :) take your time m8 it all worth it.
used endless hours on this game. <3 now i am a nerd in spells :D
