Aerie can't learn some mage scrolls?
Like the title says why can't Aerie learn some mage scrolls? I have a few scroll and they are mage spells and not in her spell book but she can't learn the scroll. Is this because she is also a cleric. One example is ice storm. Is this something do to with what school of magic. new player so still learning.

If a character has INT lower than 19, she's limited to the number of spells she can write in spell book.
Either you forget / erase some spells to add the ones you want to have, or have Aerie bump her INT to 19. (EEkeeper)

or have Aerie bump her INT to 19. (EEkeeper)
Or you could use potions of genius or mind focusing

The most likely reason is that you have reached her limit of spells *in the spellbook* for her INT score... Example - trying to copy a 5th level scroll, while already having her limit in the spell book. Your limited by INT score not only what level you can scribe to your book, but also by how many different spells of each level you can have.

You can get around this two ways, delete a spell you do not use from the spell book. (click on the spell icon in the book, select remove) or drink a potion of genius or mind focusing before copying the scroll.

Yup can delete a different spell then learn another. Will defo try the potion of genius to try and get all the scrolls I have learnt, worth it for the xp too.....

You don't need to cheat her INT when there are plenty of potions that boost INT.

If you have more than one mage, you can have much more spell variety with theese restrictions. Even at INT 18 your max number of spells per spell level is 18. Only at int 19 does this change to "all"

And if you have only one mage, and a lesser than 18 int, you must choose which spells you need on a regular basis. Those you never or seldom use you can cast from the scroll itself.

The removing and re-scribing of spells in the SpellBook is a great EXP bonus, so that is cool. But if you start to drink potions, and later remove spells, you will need more potions to get a "full" spellbook again.

So think some of what spells you need. * Hint * many lvl 1, 2 and 3 "white" spells are pure garbage, and great to have as EXP bonus only.

Once you are an experienced mage, you will seee that you only ever need 4-5 spells of each level. Then you are ready to play as a Sorceror. Great Fun.
