Romancing and removing NPCs from party
Is it true that in BG2EE you cancel any romance progression if you remove an NPC from your party? I was hoping to pick and swap NPCs along the way and take a NWN2 approach where I collect and leave all my NPCs in one place and then pick NPC depending on what quest Iäm doing.

Is this true with Neera as wel in BGEE?

It was true in the original game that removing a companion from the party while a romance was in progress would end the romance. I do not think the Enhanced Edition changed that.

if you put them in a room and close the door, then remove them from the party, you should be fine.

just don't talk to them again until you want to readd them.

It is! In fact, I removed Haer'D from the party whilst romancing Aerie and apparently was in the middle of the love triangle and it wrecked the romance.
