How ******* long is this game?
I played the first one (except the pits) and finished in 155 hrs.
I like to explore every corner of the map, talk to every NPC and kill every enemy.
In bg2ee i am still on chapter 2, with a total of 65 hrs more or less.
I still have some quests to do (recover the lich body and the second floor from watchers keep).
How long should i expect the game to be, about 200 hrs?
My plan is to finish the game before the launch of bg3.

The chapters are a bit uneven since they depend on you progressing the main story line (which is probably like a quarter of the game). Since you're already on high level quests like watchers keep I assume you have done quite the amount of quests already).

Overall I would say BG2 is longer than BG1 but it depends a lot on how good you are with the fights (or if you cheese) because BG2 has a lot of tough fights.
Have you done the non city quests like Nalia castle, trademeet, druide grove, windspearhills & umar hills?

Of course, i killed the fire and shadow dragon too. My party is between level 13 and 15.

Then (depending on how much city stuff you have done) you're about 40-60% finished with the game I would say (not including Watchers Keep which technically is part of the expansion anyways so it's extra content).

I spent most of the time on chapter 2 or 3 doing all the side quests.. once you reach the asylum all the chapters are short as it become really liner.

yeah 2-3 are the longest if you choose to make it long. After that it becomes more linear until chapter 6 I think where you get a bit of optional freedom and you can finish all the stuff that you didn't do in 2-3

Thanks for the replies. I will finish level 2 of watchers keep and progress to chapter 3 (72 hours in-game right now). I found a Lich and a party on a house at bridge district. They look even harder than Kangaxx. Should I wait till i am stronger to kill them?

the weird house that consumed one of your gems? I personally consider them tougher, but if you can take out kangaxx without relying on too much cheese you can probably take them out as well.

how long the game takes depends on how deep the rabbit hole you want to go via side quests. it is possible to beat it without glitches in about 2 hours or so if you know what to do.

It was very hard to kill Kangaxx. I had to use traps on the first phase and a lot of summons and false dawn, haste, a lot of potions and had to be lucky to dont be imprisoned.

My plan is to complete everything i can (without following a
step by step guide), but exploring every inch squared.

unsure, game keeps track of time by in game hours spent which if you rest or travel alot does not correspond to real time.

the game has less mindless wandering and low level stuff than BG1. so I expect it shouldn't take you quite as long. if you managed to take BG1 in 155 hours, I'd cut BG2 down to lets say 100 hours. alot less reading of skills and items because you are already familiar with the system?

I'm trying to scale up I think its like 80 hours for BG1 and 60 hours for BG2.

i mean the in-game time measured by steam. The game is open only if i am playing (some friends sleep with some games on). Now that my GPU has broken i want to play this game for even longer haha.

I think my first game was around 600 hours
As for steam hours, everyone knows they're bugged so there really isnt any comparison any more than there is saying who the coolest movie star or sports player is.

Hey Marombeiro I added you, since your playing Baldur's Gate and we both speak same language would be nice to share some experiences playing through the game :D

ATM, I'm with 70 hours and I'm in the last chapter... I didn't explored every corner, but I did a few side quests and companion's story as rescuing Nalia from prison. Now I'm just stuck at Black Dragon Fight hehe kinda hard to my actual party.
