CAN YOU ROMANCE TWO COMPANIONS AT THE SAME TIME?

No. You can only start romancing several, but eventually you need to decide.

In Throne of Bhaal for whatever reason it treats it like all possible romances are active, which is odd if you are a dude and have amonen in the party and he starts talking like you are his woman.

but yeah post your variables we'll see who you are actually dating.

It depends on how you let them down. There are ways to let them down without causing them to leave the party. Just don't be a complete jerk to them and they'll likely stay.

With those two particular charcters they should start bickering more and more often, if you don't break it off with one of them then eventually there'll be a big confrontation where they fight over you and you're forced to choose one or the other. Just be nice about rejecting the one you don't pick and they'll probably still stick around.

Jaheira will leave permanently from the game world if you remove her from the party in that case. The Harper pin requires you to romance her and complete her personal quest.

Roleplaying based on what happens during conversation. Your choices influence the state of internal game variables. If you flirt or return compliments too often, this will finalize a romance. The other potential partners will react to your choice.

If you just want the pin, if i remember correctly if you got a rep of 17+ you get it even without romancing her.

Just tested it a few hours ago with 18 rep and i got the pin without romancing her.

I got just two problems.
1) It is Jaheira only, and i really can't use her effectively since she is like 8 levels behind my party.
2) Even thou i shot her down the first time she tried to romance me... she left when i wanted to tell her that she should just wait at my stronghold... i think thats not how it went last time i played.. but that was like 15+ years ago.

So if you don't plan on keeping her in the party.. it might not be worth it .. i think you get about 150k party XP doing the whole quest line so unless you romance her for the extra 100k for your main and her each at the end i don't feel like it is worth all the trouble... while they at least changed the last part to happen within 1 ingame hour not the old who knows how many hours.

A high level theif could use the pin using Use Any Item...also, when Elminster shows up try hasting your theif and having 3 or 4 potions of master theivery onboard to pick his pocket multiple times. You get, among other things a +2 Ring of Protection and a +2 Cloak of Protection. There are only one of each available in the game until I found out about these two

That's true. I sometimes put it on Jansen but most of the time i just can't use the resistance effectively and (my) Jansen is already pretty immune to spell missiles.
