How to dispel runes on Gate of Ust Natha? (minor spoilers)

In Underdark, after i have met Adalon, killed her and get the scroll that should dispell the runes on the entrance to the drow city.

But how? Scroll cannot be used as an quick item, the gate isn't opening when i try it with character who have scroll in inventory, and i have difficulty finding switch since there is no such a thing.

I suppose there must be some sort of hidden rune/switch where i can use this scroll. If someone can advise me how to solve that issue, will be much appreciated.

I think you are supposed to just use it like a normal exit when you have the scroll

so basically i can't acess usnata if i didn't obey stupid dragon? well i guess no other choice but to replay the whole level since last save is at the entrance(

Are you at the right entrance?

The scroll allows access to the exit to the surface, in the Kuo-Toa lair.*

With Adalon dead, her illusion (assuming you let her cast it on you) is dispelled. So, entering the city you would have no access to any quests, only a city full of hostile drow.

It's time consuming yes, but I can't pass up all that XP and loot, so I do it the "official" way.

* Note that using the console to spawn in the scroll while Adalon is still alive will not allow access to the exit. She must be dead.

In fact, im not against a mop-up of Drow. The problem is, that i cannot get to the city at all. Guard ran away when i was approaching, and now i have closed gate, and scroll which i don't know how to use.

What do i need to do to infiltrate their city?

You need Adalon to make a Drow illusion over your party. The scroll is for the exit to the surface, which is nowhere near the door to Ust Natha.

I know, but the guy above said @voehringer_nitron said that you still should be able to enter drow city, even if now they all will be hostile. I've seen remarks about this on other forums, too, so i think you still can enter drow city even without illusion.

All i need is to figure how.

Perhaps you need the light gem from the deep gnomes? It has been a while since I was in the underdark so I may be wrong.

Nope, you need the light gem to get to Adallon. And i have it, nevertheless.

The problem is at the final gate which leads to the drow city
