Thats what I thought might be the case. But checking through the dialogue history and actions, and then retrying a couple other combinations, all have the same effect. The first input worked (I started at the top of the walkthrough list and took the 5% magic resist) but no beneficial combinations worked afterwards.
If you can't be bothered to collect all the handwritten notes then have a look at a less wrong walkthrough http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/Walkthrough2/watchers-keep/4-machine.php
Oh, interesting! I admit, Ive been avoiding sorcerers.net for walkthroughs and help because of their adblock blocker. :P
But also, oddly enough, it was the wisdom one I had issues with, using the combination described on the fandom.com page.
So the issue was actually about another player in the game being unable to get any of the combinations to work properly. A different player got some of the combos to work. And I, as the host, was able to use any and all of the combinations.
In the end, I took control of the entire party and simply dished out the buffs as agree'd on by all three of us in the game, worked like a charm that way.
Still very strange that any of the connected clients could not use the machine properly.
It's worth to log this into our bug tracker. If you have a save prior to the machine, please zip and attach it so that we could investigate.
I gladly will! Except how would I attach a file from my drive to the steam discussion boards? As far as I know, that function is not available here.
