[SOLVED] I messed up Khalid... I just want to rollback him to his default state :`(
Hey, just wanted to know if someone knows how to fix this...

Just in case it sounds weird, and in order to give context and come clear from the start, I'm currently playing through BG1 in BG2 engine using EET. Also, I'm using one of the UI overhauls mods (Lefreut's Enhanced UI) but other than that it might be the actual cause of the bug, I don't think it affects anything else.

I didn't know where to post this, but it's probably related to BG2 since that's the install the game is using.

So, this is what happened: I opened Khalid's Customize section to change his script (several times, since the script change don't seem to be sticking) and by error I went to the Sounds section and pressed Done there (without actually changing anything...) and he now says stuff using one of the player's voicesets instead of his own voiceset.

And I haven't found a way to reset that change yet... and I would very much want to get back to Khalid's voice :)

I've looked all over EEKeeper's options to see if that was something that could be changed there and I can't seem to figure out if that setting is there at all... not even for my character.

I'm just going over the game in order to test it for a proper run atm, so no big deal at all if I can't fix it, but I'd love to know in case it happens in one of my 'for real' runs :)

you could have a save with the fine khalid, then just move him over to the save with the borked khalid then give him the items and xperience to get him to the borked khalids possesions no?

Hm... yeah, that sounds logical... I could try and see what it comes out of that :)

Got it fixed, ty!

I had to do it with Near Infinity in the end (had to update to the last version first!), but googling a bit around found a thread on Beamdog forums that explained how to do it.

Basically had to find a previous save where Khalid was still unchanged and open it and also open the save to edit, and go to Khalid party member slot, edit CRE and scroll down to the Sounds section and copy each and every single one of them by hand from the first one that had the correct definition to the second one that was the incorrect entry.

Thankfully Near Infinity has a "Copy Value" then "Replace Value" function for that, so it wasn't that hard to do as it sounds.

I did it on a new copy of the last save game just in case, and after I went through them all and let NI save the changes, I loaded the edited save into the game and checked and indeed Khalid's soundset is back.

So, thanks for the inspiration! It wouldn't have occurred to me to check on Near Infinity otherwise.

EDIT: Just for reference, here's the thread that gave me the procedure to edit sound entries -> https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/69634/editing-cre-and-re-assigning-sound-in-eekeeper-and-nearinfinity
