Demon fear + Dead Magic Zone is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t...
I searched for a while and it seemed the only way to resist fear is to use Contigency, which I do not have, and even if I go back all the way to purchase some, I cannot cover all of my party members. Is there a way to at least fight this battle? I even tried the Slayer form and it's damaging me constantly so I guess that's not an option.

OK I managed to beat them by transforming into Slayer and transform back in time. The reputation drop is OK I guess, but I'm really curious how did you beat the battle?
BTW do you guys think it's a bit early to take the Balor (What's his name...), considering my party is in average level 15, none of them has HLA and I lack some critical spells (Like PFMW, Contigency, etc.).

I normally leave the levels past the second for when I'm doing Throne of Bhaal, so between being higher level and wearing the items that bumps your saving throws, I don't normally have much of a problem with them :/

I don't know how I'd do it if I had to go there before the end of the game... and I don't really remember any items that offer Protection from Fear atm.

There's this one item I know that has the Immunity to Fear ability, and it's the Long Sword you get from Windspear Hills catacombs, I think? The Dragon Slayer sword.

So if you can wield swords you can hold that one and be immune to them... if you DW it with other sword, you can have it on your left hand and still be able to use a more powerful one on your right hand.

EDIT (I marked it as spoilers, just in case):

I had a Blackguard as my main character in my recent playthrough. The innate immunity to fear is a big plus, and the ability to cast Priest spells (e.g., Remove Fear) is a big plus. My Blackguard with Remove Fear was a big help for those battles that did not have a dead magic zone in the room, but had dead magic zones leading in and thus stripping buffs. For fighting in dead magic zones with horror tossed about, it was just a matter of my Blackguard killing quickly and hoping none of the enemies were targeting my squishiest companions.

For battles like that, it's time to take an inventory of all the magic items you have been toting around, all of the abilities that have accumulated on your characters, to see what you have that you haven't been using previously or have forgotten about.

I did Watcher's Keep before finishing Chapter 6 in Shadows of Amn. It's probably better though to put off Watcher's Keep until the start of Throne of Bhaal. If you finish up Watcher's Keep and go back to finish Shadows of Amn, the final battles in Chapters 6 and 7 are way too easy.

Unfortunately, Watcher's Keep is just there on your map, with no hints as to when you should try it, or whether it will even be available in Throne of Bhaal.

Thanks man, I guess it's a bit too early for me to tackle level 3 and beyonds (actually I cleared most of level 3, except the boss fight). I'm going to wait until ToB to do the rest of WK. I need to get more equipment to counter the horror.
