Could you elaberate some? I'm not sure I understood this post.
There are various reasons why the enhanced editions are a blessing for both oldtimers and newbies who want to play or replay the games. If you still have an installable copy of the original and the patience to hunt for mods and other fixes, the original may be good enough, but the enhanced editions include hundreds of fixes that make it much more convenient to install the game and start with something that's ready to be played.
Here's a large document summing up the changes of the v2 series of updates:

Various graphic changes
Tell more details. There are too many changes, not limited to the user interface, and various can be toggled in the ingame settings.
The zoom does make a huge difference. I can go way in, and way out.
I like the inventory icons for spells glow green if the character hasn't learned it yet, and if you pick it up from the inventory every character who can learn it but hasn't yet gets a yellow glow to thier portrait until you put it down again. That alone saves a ton of time when looting and buying new spells.
I like easy steam uninstall/reinstall when I want to play with a different mod loadout. They've included a few mods/fixpacks to make things more streamlined.
And, none of the new content is any more lore breaking than having Larry, Darryl, and Darryl, in the original game. http://baldursgate.wikia.com/wiki/Larry,_Darryl_%26_Darryl
Also, Beamdog updated IWD, Planescape Torment, and they're working on Neverwinter Nights. Supporting them means getting modern system support for all these games, plus whatever the next project is.
I say if you have the money, do it. If you're struggling finantially, don't.
Yeah, yeah Little D, we all know you are nothing more than a bd bootlicker.
