SPOILERS Chapter 6 romance
Ok, so the first time I played through this game(with scs installed), chapter 6 Bodhi destroyed me and I quit playing the game. This time, I want to be more prepared for the fight.

So I dropped Viconia from my party before entering the graveyard, so Bodhi wouldn't kidnap her and rob me of my best cleric for the fight. After the dialog finished, I exited the graveyard and went back to pick Viconia up. After returning to the graveyard, I noticed Bodhi did not reappear to kidnap her as I hoped.

Does this negatively impact the romance in any way, or is it just a cheesy tactic(which I'm completely cool with)? Or will she eventually get kidnapped anyway?

If Bodhi don't kidnap your love interest then your romance has ended. Most probably dropping Viconia from your party killed a romance.

Bodhi didn't kidnap Vionia because I dropped her from my party, specifically so she wouldn't be kidnapped, and I could use her for the fight. With her in my party, she gets kidnapped normally.

In any case, I went on with game anyway and the romance continued normally in ToB, so I guess I answered my own question.

dropping a romance character during a romance ends the romance.

you could turn her to stone or imprison her, and she'll be removed from your party without ending the romance as far as I recall,

its the ending the pressence in your party dialog that kills the romance.

its extremely clear it ends the romance.

she generally says 'things won't be the same between us, and 'this will end the romance'

ToB has a bit of an error where it allows you to continue romances with anyone. regardless of gender or previous affliation.

Well I think the romance may have been over anyway before I went to the graveyard. Nothing was said when I dropped her from the party. I didn't know this at the time though. But with her in the party, Bodhi kidnapped her. Dropped from the party, she did not.

IF Bodhi kidnapped her, then the romance was likely still flagged to be on.

oddly as I mentioned in a different thread I managed to get Jahiera's pin and Romance Viconica in the same playthru.

You NEED Bodhi to kidnap her in order for the romance to continue. Removing her from your party, even via spells that would incapacitate characters, counts against you.
