Lazy way to kill him:
- Stand way back
- Summon creatures
- Aggro the lich
- keep summoning creatures
--> lich runs out of spells trying to kill them all
- finally move in and pound him to dust

He casts imprisonment on your toons, and he doesn't run out of those spells, so don't charge him head on. The best and most economical way to deal with him is to keep your toons behind while keeping him surrounded with summons, as the person before me said. Then, when he wasted most of his best spells on the cheap summons, send in your mage after casting the 4th level spell "Fire Shield Red" and the 3rd. level "Protection from fire," in case he blasts you, and cast " lv 6 Improved Haste," and "Tensen Transformation," all after casting the 5th level "Spell Immunity, abjurication" spell, so that he can't imprison you, and then just beat him to dust.

The expensive way to deal with him is to buy the two scrolls of "Protection from Magic" from "Ribald" in the "Adventure's Mart," give them to your melee guys, and send them in after using the summon tactic for the same effect. The problem with this tactic is that it makes you waste the single two most useful scrolls in the game on him...

Shade Lich =! Kangaxx

The Shade Lich should be the guy down in the sewers of the temple district.
(he runs out of spells pretty fast)

Ruby Ray->Breach->Insect Plague, then beat until dead.

Or Inquisitor Dispel, Insect Plague, beat until dead.

Well, I just realised I tought he was talking about Kangaxx, therefore my advice was addressing Kangaxx The Demilich and not the Shade Linch. You are right, that's the lich in the sewers nearly the cult of the unseeing. That guy should be very easy to put down. Though if the O.P. is having a hard time with it, then he's going to have a field day with Kangaxx, unless he follows my advice!

Just killed him on insane using summons until he ran out of most spells then burned him with piercing magic spell then he is dead

Kangaax has to be hit hard and fast. A berserk berserker/mage firing Melf's Minute Meteors is invulnerable to inprisonment. Korgan, the evil dwarf fighter, berserk and bashing him with a +3 axe keeps him occupied. He is also immune to imprisonment. If my berserker/mage has come into possession of Crom Feyer, he can do the job by himself.

If Kangaax goes two rounds without being hit he regenerates all his hit points, so you need to kill him fast.

Yeah, but it takes too long to get the Crom Faeyr in the game. You can bypass imprisonment by just using "Spell Immunity, abjurication," after that you can kill him pretty much any way you want, after you wait for his protections to wear off and for him to waste most of his spells on summons of course. You have to dance with him a little. With this tactic you can kill him fairly early in the game. In LoB I would recommend to wait till higher levels though. If you are going to wack him, remember that you need +4 weps of greater, so have your Wizard use the Staff of Rynn +4, which can be bought from Ribald dirt cheap. Just don't forget to cast Tensen Transformation and Improved Haste on the mage.

Or just pick up Mace of Disruption + upgrade it with illithium, hire Korgan (if you're not using him) and have him smash the Demi-Lich while Enraged and Hasted. Can be done before leaving to Spellhold, easily.

Ah Korgan, my old fashioned target practice, I usually kill him right after I finish his tome quest, I can't stand that midget. I stick to my simple tactic that works every time. Good tip for Korgan lovers though.

Gratz mate, that is a fun foe to take down! Now follow advice given to defeat Kangaxx. Don't get frustated if he initially gets the best of you, it takes some practice to master him. Just keep trying till you get it done!
