Some fun spell combos to try
Hi all, playing this game for awhile, i thought of some very interesting combos to try. I'll build this list as it comes along. If you can contribute, feel free to!

Become a healing mage
Just bear in mind resistances going beyond 100 heals you. If your mage is a lightning focused mage, bring your lightning resistances above 100. Then cast lightning on yourself (or let it bounce towards you). This is more fun if you are solo-ing. you can go trigger happy on your lightning spells (watch out for defenseless shop vendors!)

Healing from enemy fireshields
Just protection from fire on yourself, equip ring of fire resistance (or drink a fire resistance potion). while bashing a fireshield opponent down (such as Demogorgon), you'll be healing instead!

Healing fireballs
Cast protection from fire on yourself, rings of fire resistance till your fire resistance goes beyond 100. Next, go around the map and mass cast fireballs, healing yourself and do AOE damage! If your a fighter/mage hybrid, take with you the unupgraded club of detonation, it works as well. Chased by armed guards below of low reputation? land 3 fireballs on their head with yourself in it at no problems at all!

Bypass mirror image in a single cast
Stacking 3 magic missiles in a single cast means 15 magic missiles. Bound to take out mirror image for sure, plus damage

Room of stinking gas
I had a friend who really made full use for most of the enclosed areas in BG2. Open a door, invisibility, mass cloud kill inside then close the door. and wait. You could test this in the Naila's keep where you face uber hulks. Else you can chain - 1 emotion and 2 cloudkill spells

Backbitter the cursed item hits you back on damage whenever you attack, if anyone can find out how to improve your physical resistance beyond 100, mabbe there's a way to make it act like a minor drain spell instead.

If you cast protection of fire, mage and cleric version on a summon and land a fireball on them, will they still turn hostile?

I thought they fixed higher than 100 resistance healing for the EE? Neat if not.

Melf's Minute Meteors is one of the best offensive spells ever, and I see a lot of people overlooking MMM when they talk about spell picks. I use a spell trigger of MMM, haste and tensers transformation. I think haste + MMM is bugged to not give extra attacks, but I use it to kite while throwing meteors. A sequencer of haste + MMM is good as well, just cast tensers after.

MMM:
-takes off stoneskins/iron skins as well as interrupting the enemy caster as the fire damge still gets through
-gives 5 apr unbuffed (6 with blade offensive spin) and they also ignore magic resistance (at least it did in the original) so werewolves and liches etc. are toast
-eats through most other forms of spell protection as the projectiles themselves aren't technically a spell

A custom party of 6 mages is getting 30 apr just spamming MMM lol.


Mislead + Tensers + Imp Haste is OP af on a mage/thief if you abuse the stealth from Mislead.

yea MMM, it's very good against Golem, all types. It's your early ticket to take them on
