How long does it take children to grow up?
I've had a survivor with a kid since around day 12. I have taken over all of the city (minus what friendly factions own) and have been passing time to to see the 'grow up' event, but it's now day 652 and she is still a child. Is this a bug or does it normally take longer?

Years, according to Sarah. I wouldn't know if the amount that they have aged continues into new cities or not, as I think that would be the only real way that you'd ever actually see them age up given the state of the game. An absolutely enormous map could do the trick as well.

I just migrated to a new city, and I brought her along to test if age carries over. I'm curious to test this out.
Given that it only took me 3 months to complete the game, and I was "Turtling" for the most part, I don't think ageing would ever come into play.

Up to 14 years if she started as a baby, though kids are more likely to spawn at ages 11-13 when you find them in the wild. There will probably be an achievement if you manage to bring a baby all the way through the campaign to adulthood.

Also... not totally sure I've tested growing up properly. :p It happens as a random event sometime after their 14th birthday. I'm going to see if I can echo the child's age somewhere so you can at least tell if they're old enough.

It'd be really nice to be able to see the child's ages by default to.

In newest testing patch, you can by rolling over the child in the equipment menu.

90 in-game days for a child to advance 1 year.
