Get rid of bath salt addiction?

So I tried going for the bath salt achievement on Steam and traded a whole bunch of salts with the Pharmacists. Some of my soldiers actually have the addict status (did not know bath salts were automatic use) and I was wondering if it was possible to get rid of it. Haven't seen anything bad, and shouldn't be too bad if I get more bath salts, but like any addiction and what I experienced with devout people, it might hurt me really badly.
Just a thought. Cold turkey for 30 days seems to make people give up religion (even though I still think that's too slow), so maybe cold turkey on bath salts?

I might be remembering wrong but I am almost positive that in one of my longterm games, I eventually got an event regarding all my bath salt addicts and I chose to "cold turkey" them. Eventually it hurt happiness but i think they eventually all lost their Addict perks.
