Do radio towers do anything?
I remember researching radio being one of the lab options in Rebuild 2, but since that seems to have been replaced by the Signpost research, does having radio towers in your fort do anything?

i noticed they tend to have a high defense score, so maybe thats what it does, either that or i'm misremebering

Mm, could be, but if that's all they do I might as well repurpose them. I thought they might make it more likely to have new recruits show up at your fort (since the signpost/searchlight research doesn't really do much from what I can see).

but do you really want to get +1 every week? imagine how filled your fort will be within months. and they keep coming.

Well surely they'll stop arriving when we run out of room? But it feels a bit ridiculous when I've got 30+ room available, recruited every possible person on the map and still feel like I haven't got enough hands for all the tasks. There's even an achievement for getting a 100 survivors at your fort at the same time, but even in larger maps I feel like the recruitment tends to run dry around the 60-person cap.

well the radio station is just useless, and if you need more survivors, you got already the lab research for that
